Days of Future Past Favourite moments in 'X-men: First Class'

I can't believe no one yet has brought up Shaw's "Children of the Atom" line. I really dug that.

I'm still hoping that there's some kind of astral plane battling in the works in a sequel.. :(

Almost certainly, especially with Charles now in a wheelchair. It's the only way he can appear to be physically active, and be useful to the plot...

Yes, I'm glad that Shaw said that too. Made it seem like he knew more than most.

I don't know about almost certainly, but we can hope. I still think his paralysis should just be a momentary thing and we discover in a sequel that he can still walk and then gets truly paralyzed. Yeah it's hoping for a lot, but I think they made him paraplegic too soon.

A psychic battle with Mags or Emma would be dope. No astral planing just telepath mind fight.

That would really cheapen the scene on the beach. I would've preferred to see Xavier crippled in later movie but it would be worse to reverse that decision now.

I agree with you, but given the direction these movies have taken for the sake of story I wouldn't be surprised if they did it just cause.

NOOO There has to be the astral plane. I imagine it to be like dark cerebro in X2 with a red tint. Well that's how I thought it should have been in X3 when Xavier was fighting Dark Phoenix, again another missed opportunity to see Xavier being physical and Phoenix unleashing the firebird when she kills Xavier.

well there was plans to do a battle in the astrial plane between Xavier and Frost...

but that was scrapped because Vaughn said it was very similar to what was accomplished in 'Inception'.

Don't get me wrong I would love to see it, but I think it will be watered down/tamed to be just a mind fight. With both telepaths in each other's mind. Yeah you could call it the astral plane, but I bet they will make it look normal and not cool looking unfortunately as it should. The red tint and more would be cool.

I also like seeing Michael Ironside as the Naval Cpt. and the Russian guy as the Russian naval Cpt.

Ironside has been a staple of 80s-90s action films so I was glad to see him. I wanted to shout out Racszack's Roughnecks from Starship Troopers so bad during the film lol.

Anyone else notice the guy from the tv show Roswell or the movie Forsaken as a sailor?

My favorite moments were pretty much every Magneto moment. I've been waiting for a proper translation as well as one that really portrays his powers, those were by far my favorite moments. Oh and the cameo

I would have the Astral Plane look like Cerebro when it's used. A smokey gray area empty area and they create weapons and structures with their mind.

I would have the red tint, and white lights representing the psychic mutants on the planet. It would make sense since psychics can access it so there should be some sort of connection to them and vice versa. I thought the red cerebro room was visually appealing.

My friend did do that.

I loved the part when Magneto exited the sub with Shaw's body and then proceeded to give his speech and then stopped the missles. A supervillain indeed was born.

HAHA...I'm glad I wasn't the only one. Yes, the way he exited and his speech were awesome.

Hi guys,

I am obviously new and I don't know where to introduce myself.

Apart from that, I really loved this movie and believed in its success since the first trailer.

One of my favourite moment is Magneto lifting the submarine for many reasons:

I have to say that I was more amazed by Magneto lifting the submarine than the whole 162 minutes of Avatar despite having way inferior special effects. The reason is that the sub scene is an arc, it is the fufillment of story, character reationships , character arcs, build up, a once in a lifetime event, great acting and a music that embodies these elements perfectly. Avatar felt empty, the story was an excuse to show special effects.

My favorite moments from watching X-Men First Class on DVD.

SPOILERS in case

-the X-Men members showing off their powers with hilarious results- why couldnt they do this with the regular X-Men trilogy movies?

- loved Angel, Mystique and the boys goofing off and partying in their waiting room lounge

-Banshee failing to fly outside the window LOL

SPOILERs again.

How could Xavier looked at what Magneto was doing to Shaw? Was Xavier using his telepathic ability to be in Shaw's head or what?

Yes and yes. Think about this for a second--how else did he freeze Shaw? He was controlling Shaw's mind, which is why he could see through Shaw's eyes and also why he screamed really, really loud when that coin went through his skull. Charles felt that through his telepathy--hence the reason when he saw that coin coming, he basically looked scared out of his freakin' mind. He knew what was about to happen and that it wasn't gonna feel too good.

I know I'm late to the party, but how ****ing badass was Magneto in this movie?

The entire scene in the Argentinian bar was beyond amazing.

SPOILERS

Blood and Honor. Which do you care to shed first?

We were just following orders.

Blood then. *stabs hand into the table*

Now, it was about this time that I needed a change of underpants and a smoke. But I'm glad I didn't because if I had, I would have soiled another pair by the end of the scene.
