Who exactly is acting not surprised enough for your liking? I don't think anyone is saying that the Trump campaign is the first in the world to play dirty tricks. But why even bring it up, because how is it relevant to this? You're falling back on this... "oh no, no, no.. I'm not saying I like Trump; I just wanted to provide this cover, because... you know." If I had a nickel for ever time a conservative defended Trump online while 'not supporting him,' I'd have a ton of nickels.
And again, you have no evidence that this has happened before in American politics. Doing opposition research is quite a bit different than colluding with a foreign adversary to disperse stolen material on one's opponent. There's no precedent for that in modern, American politics... regardless of how much you want to claim otherwise. The closest we know of is Al Gore's campaign, in which he rejected the offer. What exactly are you asking us to do? Cause it sounds like you want us to minimize this scandal, because it might have, maybe, kinda happened before at some point, sometime, somewhere. What's your point otherwise? Excuse us for not wanting to give the guy political cover when he hasn't earned a lick of it.
And even if what you're saying is true.. he's still lied to the American people for 2 + years. That's bad... mmmkay.
