I actually agree with Prettyricky, insofar as I'd be shocked if opposition research hadn't been obtained through illegal means in the past during an election. I wouldn't be surprised if it was nearly epidemic throughout history. HOWEVER, it's a moot point in terms of this investigation, which he seems to know, but probably would've been better off not bringing up at all.

Its kind of like the patriots video taping teams practice plays and got caught, everyone did it most likely thoughout history but the pats were the ones that got caught first.

Fake News. The only thing the Pats got caught doing is filming a game from the sideline(which was legal the years before), instead of from a press box. The practice taping was false.

It sounds like Trump is looking at William P. Barr for new Attorney General. He was Bush 41's Attorney General. Which, seems like an odd choice after his passing. Doesn't seem awful, which is having my concerns raised.

With Trump you always have to look at what angle he is playing and what it really means. None of that 3-D chess crap but what this does to personally benefit him.

I think part of it is because with Bush 41's passing, someone would think he would be confirmed easily. There are definitely some warning signs, insofar his belief that the FBI could unilaterally invade a foreign nation.

Post in the wrong thread there Darth?

Only about a third of the Senate (35 seats this year) is up for election every 2 years (not all 100 as Trump would have people believe) and the Democrats won 62.9% (68.6% if the independents in Vermont and Maine who caucus with Democrats are included) of those that were up. Republicans flipped zero states Clinton won in 2016 that were up and Democrats flipped Arizona which Trump won and came close to flipping Texas. Though Democrats lost 4 Trump-won states, Democrats also held on to Trump-won states like Ohio, Montana, Wisconsin, Pennsylvania, Michigan, and West Virginia.

And the House which you dismiss when it's a nation-wide election unlike the Senate?

Um that was what I meant though. Burn um at the stake if they break a law but once again dont act surprised like this has never happened before

Who exactly is acting not surprised enough for your liking? I don't think anyone is saying that the Trump campaign is the first in the world to play dirty tricks. But why even bring it up, because how is it relevant to this? You're falling back on this... "oh no, no, no.. I'm not saying I like Trump; I just wanted to provide this cover, because... you know." If I had a nickel for ever time a conservative defended Trump online while 'not supporting him,' I'd have a ton of nickels.

And again, you have no evidence that this has happened before in American politics. Doing opposition research is quite a bit different than colluding with a foreign adversary to disperse stolen material on one's opponent. There's no precedent for that in modern, American politics... regardless of how much you want to claim otherwise. The closest we know of is Al Gore's campaign, in which he rejected the offer. What exactly are you asking us to do? Cause it sounds like you want us to minimize this scandal, because it might have, maybe, kinda happened before at some point, sometime, somewhere. What's your point otherwise? Excuse us for not wanting to give the guy political cover when he hasn't earned a lick of it.

And even if what you're saying is true.. he's still lied to the American people for 2 + years. That's bad... mmmkay.

Trump thinks the entire Senate was up for reelection. Let that sink in. A man being called president of the united states doesnt know how Senate elections work.

Judge orders more fact-finding in Clinton email case

Lamberth, who has clashed with Clinton and her aides in cases dating back to her husband’s administration, was unsparing in his assessment of the former secretary’s actions. He blasted Clinton’s email practices as “one of the gravest modern offenses to government transparency.”

I'm sure Lamberth, this protector of government transparency, is also concerned about the fact that Ivanka has been using her personal email for work. :o

Again Im not defending him for possibly colluding with russians to smear hilary. Im saying yet again I highly doubt this is the first time something like this has ever happened to varying degrees. Im saying this out of the outrage ive seen on tv that something like this could ever happen in our political system which honestly isnt that far fetched.

Bottom line for the final time if mueller proves its true then this is the first time something like this was caught and brought out into the light where as it most likely happened in the past unchecked in back rooms. The good coming from this going forward is less smearing of false information on political opponents hopefully around elections.

But go ahead again and try to label me a trump supporter because I dont stick my head in the sand like most here do.

All you are basing your opinion on is a vague sentiment. Where as people involved with campaigns for decades say it is inconceivable that someone would take foreign aid, aid from a country like Russia no less (this isn't even from some long time ally) in the form of STOLEN information and a misinformation operation run by their intelligence services.

Of course campaigning includes opposition research and making your opponent look bad but doing so with foreign help is on another level and there are reasons, practical, moral but yes, even cynical that such a thing being commonplace in modern politics is highly unlikely.
