That sounds like something someone who hasn't had senate confirmation to post on this board would say.

One positive thing is this prison reform bill though. If these parties can stop trying to screw the country (the republicans probably 80% and dems probably 20%), and focus on issues at hand that they can fix then not all is lost with this presidency.

The next step is infrastructure; major problem is though is what will pay for the updates needed to infrastructure and the military? Taxes have been slashed at the wrong time. For all of our military spending, an interesting report came out which was quite critical of the deficiencies in the US miltary

US military 'losing its competitive edge'
I do find it ironic how Trump was literally trumping up how well he improved the military yet under his watch it has descended into this.

US military 'losing its competitive edge'

The whole anti-science/intellectualism thing many Republicans have been pushing for years is really going to bite the country in the ass in the near future. The domestic advancements of the private sector is saving the U.S right now

Some of the U.S major rivals are embracing and encouraging innovation while this administration seems more interested in demonizing the very innovative intellectuals it needs to remain competitive.

Looks like Trump will actually visit California.

U.S. Is Optimistic It Will Prosecute Assange

The Justice Department is preparing to prosecute WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange and is increasingly optimistic it will be able to get him into a U.S. courtroom, according to people in Washington familiar with the matter.

Over the past year, U.S. prosecutors have discussed several types of charges they could potentially bring against Mr. Assange, the people said. Mr. Assange has lived in the Ecuadorean embassy in London since receiving political asylum from the South American country in 2012.

The people familiar with the case wouldn’t describe whether discussions were under way with the U.K. or Ecuador about Mr. Assange, but said they were encouraged by recent developments.

Ecuador’s relationship with Mr. Assange has deteriorated sharply since last year’s election of President Lenin Moreno, who has described him as a “stone in our shoe” and said his continued presence at the embassy is unsustainable.

An indictment from special counsel Robert Mueller that portrayed WikiLeaks as a tool of Russian intelligence for releasing thousands of hacked Democratic emails during the 2016 presidential campaign has made it more difficult for Mr. Assange to mount a defense as a journalist. Public opinion of Mr. Assange in the U.S. has dropped since the campaign.

The Washington Post - Julian Assange has been charged, prosecutors reveal inadvertently in court filing

WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange has been charged under seal, prosecutors inadvertently revealed in a recently unsealed court filing — a development that could significantly advance the probe into Russian interference in the 2016 election and have major implications for those who publish government secrets.

The disclosure came in a filing in a case unrelated to Assange. Assistant U.S. Attorney Kellen S. Dwyer, urging a judge to keep the matter sealed, wrote that “due to the sophistication of the defendant and the publicity surrounding the case, no other procedure is likely to keep confidential the fact that Assange has been charged.” Later, Dwyer wrote the charges would “need to remain sealed until Assange is arrested.”

Dwyer is also assigned to the WikiLeaks case. People familiar with the matter said what Dwyer was disclosing was true, but unintentional.

Joshua Stueve, a spokesman for the U.S. attorney’s office in the Eastern District of Virginia, said, “The court filing was made in error. That was not the intended name for this filing.”

An FBI spokeswoman declined to comment.

I want him to regret ever being arrogant enough to think he could **** with American democracy. I hope they televise every bit of his arriving in chains, the trial, and his arrival at whatever prison he is sentenced to rot in. That is, if Putin doesnt have him assassinated before the American government can get their hands on him.

Oh and think of all the juicy things he might reveal to save his own ass from spending the rest of his life in prison.

Julian Assange is pretty much a prisoner in the Ecuadorian embassy in London. If he leaves he gets arrested and extradited.
Ecuador's intelligence agency Senain has been spying on Assange and his contacts for years. Assange is essentially political leverage for them at this point. Ecuador can use the information they have on Assange and his contacts to broker backroom deals with other nations and organisations that have a vested interest in Wikileaks.

How Julian Assange became an unwelcome guest in Ecuador's embassy

We don't have your electoral college or extremely lopsided Senate that gives disproportionate power to small, rural states. We also don't let politicians decide the mapping of electoral districts. Also, if your system worked like ours, the leader of the Democrats in the House would be President/head of government after the most recent election.

Right. Which still isn't the popular vote, the point's moot.

I have no pity to give for anyone associated with Trump. They made their bed and now they have to lie in it.
And yet Trump claims people are eager to work for his White House. I kinda doubt it really.....

During his tour, Trump Jr. walked the red carpet, attended a ribbon-cutting at a high-rise overlooking the Arabian Sea in Mumbai, hosted champagne dinners for buyers and had a private tête-à-tête with India’s prime minister, Narendra Modi. Full-page glossy newspaper ads offered those who put down a $38,000 deposit on a new luxury project outside New Delhi a chance to dine with the president’s son, prompting charges of conflict of interest. His team boasted to reporters that it had sold $100 million worth of the pricey flats, including $15 million in a single day.

But the Clinton Foundation took money to fund the Soros Illuminati....
