What, isn't ruined careers and possibly jail time payment enough for helping him?

Yeah, about that. Apparently Trump is pissed that its not a good idea to pardon himself. Thus, the pardon train has stopped.

Sorry Rudy and Paxton....
Misery loves company.

This is beginning to look like that Trump might reverse course on election fraud talk and put the blame on Rudy for feeding him false information. I mean the door is open for that scenario. Put all the blame on his Rudy and co. "Rudy Giuliani, who by the way is the worst lawyer I've ever had, falsely told me there was election fraud. He never had any credible evidence, which is why the judges I appointed, turned down all cases. I WAS MISLED! It's all Rudy's fault!"

that’s one hell of a spin. completely plausible too.

He is a narcissist. He still believes he won the popular vote in 2016. He will never stop believing that he actually won the election. Now, sure, he will likely blame Rudy for not overturning it, sure. But Trump cannot let go the belief that he won the election.

I don't know that he believes that in the same way a normal person believes something. It's more like when a child deludes themself by proclaiming something that isn't true. Whether it's true or not isn't ever at issue. What they say in order to make themself feel better is the important part.

Trump believes his hair and skin colour are real, and that he's an Emperor who is wearing fine clothes when everyone can see he's not wearing any but his followers are too afraid to say otherwise. So of course he believes he won the election.

I still find it hard to believe so many people were willing to go all in with Trump. Trump leaves a trail of broken reputations and careers in his wake. You would have to be a giant fool to join him given how things end up for those that do.

That whole section of the population felt they were losing the country to us blacks and browns and women or whoever else. And the higher-ups were promised tax breaks and what not.

I love that the money teat is being taken away from the GOP, but to make any major impact corporations will need to withhold donations until after the 2022 midterm. I doubt corporations have the resolve to cut the GOP off for that long.

I know we want him convicted and prevented from ever running again, but with their financial support already being severed, I honestly don't think the majority of the Republican party wants him to run again.

They may not admit it out loud, but the TRUMP name is tarnished and they simply can't afford anymore conflict/division in their own party moving forward. Conviction or not, Trump's options are quite limited when he leaves office.

should let him, would been one heck of show him trying to BS on the floor

It would've been fun for him to rant in front of them. Maybe he would've incriminated himself even more and told them that the US Capitol deserves it, and then he'd start chanting "hang Mike Pence" himself. Then he'd wonder what was wrong with that because it was a perfect chant that was totally appropriate.

Honestly, I would absolutely love this scenario. Idiot Rudy totally isolated. The likes of Billy Barr have already found that their actions over the last few years have left them with very low standing with both sides.

Haha, being silenced really is his worst nightmare. He can’t live without the attention.
