I played the demo. Or at least some of it, it's pretty long. It seems alright. It addresses many of the problems in Final Fantasy XIII. Unfortunately the setting and characters just don"t interest me in the slightest. I'll probably pick it up when it hits $20, which is $20 more than I ever thought I would pay for this game. So congratulations, Square. Now all you have to do is retitle Versus to Final Fantasy XV, actually release the damn thing, and you might just win me back as a fan.

Towns and people! Thats already a step in the right direction. Too bad they kept the same button masher combat. I guess at least they threw in QTEs to break it up

Downloaded the demo... So... We'll see. I totally disliked XIII so I don't have much hope, however Havok mentioning the game has towns and people is enough to get me to try it out.

My sister is jacked for this game. She had a monopoly on my PS3 yesterday so she could play the demo..twice.

I really liked the battle system of XIII, but the linear hallways got annoying for me and I never finished the game. So if this game is more open I might end up getting it.

i liked FFXIII, yes it was linear, but it makes up for it with beautiful graphics, story, and the battle system.

XIII-2 should be epic with the linear fix, so I'm good to go. Question is should I get the Collector's Edition

Just finished playing through more of the demo and best part of it was definetly Chocolina...lol. Best new character although I can see how some may get annoyed quickly with her. I wouldnt mind it if she appears in future games like there's a Cid in each of them

Anyone else feel the graphics are worse in this game? They seem a bit scaled back from XIII and the framerate also seems lower. I noticed that it feels a bit slow and sluggish moving the character around this time around

my only guess is bc XIII was worked on with the PS3 as its lead platform and therefore was optimized specifically for that system. With this game, they had 2 consoles to consider from the beginning and therefore scaled things back

Alright, so I tried the demo a little bit and it's just as I thought. I simply do not care for it. The world, the characters, I just don't care. The battle system is as boring as it was in XIII, I simply don't care about Serah and when I saw her do that awkward aim pose with her bow I almost face-palmed. And the graphics indeed look worse compared to XIII. There is one positive thing I can say about it all though, I actually like the battle music. But that's really it. Now bring on effin' Versus.

God, I know. It seems so incredibly bizarre to me that Square is pushing XIII, its world, its characters, its aesthetic on us, when players haven't really glommed onto the way Square had hoped. While keeping Versus, a game which to me looks like it could be their best, most interesting game in forever, on the back burner. Not to mention it seems like the game a lot of fans have been wanting them to make for a long time. I just don't get it.
