Nice.... that looks awesome....

Yay, mine's on the way now, along with the Catwoman (I hate the headsculpt, but the rest is so nice, I caved). Should get them in a week or two.

I'll have my Takara Batman early next week... but I caved too (got the Hot Toys Superman also).

That's a wrong mask. The mask Bale wore had 3 holes the kind like British Special Air Service Troopers

Oh, well in that case... I'm sending mine back!

Yeah, I know, pity they couldn't have got it right. The 3-hole mask looks more like a "superhero" mask too.

Don't worry... it won't be long before someone is selling custom 1:6 3-hole balaclavas on eBay for $50!

I'm so pissed; my checkbook is the worst its been in the past year, and I had to cancel my order to pay rent instead. Damn maturity, makin' me get my priorities straight.

Yeah, these things sure aren't cheap. I'm lucky though, the wife makes good money and doesn't mind the obsession with Batman.

You hang on to that woman! My girlfriend doesn't mind the obsession, but I think I'm pushing my luck a lot of the time.

Bastard bummer! I found out that my Takara figures were shipped with a faster method due to their size, and they actually tried to deliver them today but no-one was home (and there's no place to leave parcels) so they left a little card thing.

So I have to pick it up at the post-office... but I have to wait the whole weekend before it's open. :(

It'll be worth the wait. It's an awesome figure. The only problem I have with mine is keeping my 3 year old away from it.

On the bright side... at least it came this time ;)

Yes it did :)

I now have it in my hands.

In some ways it's inferior to the Medicom - while the proportions are great, the finish isn't quite as smooth and perfect and refined. It's made differently - the entire costume's rubber, whereas the medicom had rubber bit over a little stretchy wetsuit which replicated the film's costume more accurately. Overall the Medicom's costume is clearly better quality. The Takara definitely looks and feels "cheaper".

However, it looks great overall, it's really well articulated (and the foot joints are flexible so you can pose him a lot better), ther really handled the heads and neck articulation well (the neck joint hardly bothers me), the headsculpts are as great as they look in the pictures, and tha paintjobs on the faces are totally awesome.

The cape is really soft and stretchy and hangs incredibly well for such a small scale figure - it feels loose and "heavy" rather than stiff.

The package is lovely, with one small gripe - you have to wreck it to get the accessories out.

The Catwoman is really nice too, I just wish it had a realistic, awesomely painted headsculpt like the Batman - and with sculpted plastic hair instead of the rooted hair.

can someone post a back pic without the belt on. I'm curious to see if the back is accurate or not.
Thanks!

David

I don't have the Medicom figure so mabey the pics don't do it justice, but it just looks "off" to me, The chest looks way to thin and (again, just from the pictures) the head sculpt looks terrible. I do agree that the costume on the Takara figure would have been alot better if it wasn't all one piece. That being said, it is easily my favorite Begins figure so far. I'd be really interested to hear if anybody here has the Hot Toys version, and if so, how that one stacks up to the other two.

Sorry, can't get a pic at the moment, but I can tell you the back really doesn't look too accurate at all.

Yeah, the headsculpt isn't great, and the torso has proportional issues dues to being based on a cetrain body... but the quality and craftsmanship on it is definitely streets ahead of the Takara (I've got both). The rubber is just far better quality, the finish much nicer, and the sculpt is far more accurate and crisp, if you ignore the proportionality issues. The surface of the Takara's rubber is also kind of marked and scratched. It's just a much, much cheaper rubber.

In fact, side by side, there doesn't seem to be much difference between the chest proportions on both. What the takara has over the Medicom is wider shoulders, but the chest looks largely the same.

The catwoman has pleather boots - which is better than what either Batman has and ideally they'd have the same. The Medicom has sculpted plactic boot which look great but provide no flexibility. The Takara has rubber boots whic flex all you want (allowing better poses) but really look a bit odd, like he's wearing shoes over leg-covers. Pleather (or real fine leather) boots would have been perfect.

The Takara head and cape on the Medicom body would probably be the better looking figure than either, actually.

Just wondering, where did you guys order your figures from? Just trying to weigh my options here.
