Most people can and will. I would love to see for of the fanboys who complain about The Perry White, Human Torch, Kingpin and Electro casting try to argue their pov of why they shouldn't be cast to non fanboys, and see what kind of reaction they get .

But at least Fox tried to make Alba look vaguely related to Evans, and she had the blonde hair. Are they going to give Jordan a blond wig too?

I think this makes the 2005 movie look like better casting all of a sudden.

This is one step worse than that, instead of actually improving on things and providing a more faithful adaptation.

It's like Fox are deliberately trying to sabotage the movie. But even if it bombs, a) are Fox going to give it back to Marvel and b) if it does bomb, that probably hurts Marvel's chances with the franchise itself because the public will continually associate the FF with a mediocre series of movies.

I love Michael Fassbender and think he's a hell of an actor, but I'd be concerned about him being picked to play T'Chaka's white adopted son.

But unlike the potential Johnny Storm casting, none of those changes have an adverse affect on other characters as a result of said change. If Johnny Storm was just an independent character it'd be one thing, but him being who he is means changing his race not only affects him, it also affects Sue, and now you you have to tweak her too. And it's all a bunch of changing that doesn't seem to be completely necessary to begin with.
