Flashpoint - DC Animated.

Great movie. Yeah, the animation was lacking and the character designs were awful but it was a fun ride. More enjoyable than the comic IMO.

Anyway, my favorite part had to be near the beginning. All the JLers are using some intricate ways to remove the bombs and Superman just puts his hands around it and nonchalantly says, "The worst part is waiting." I straight up loled.

I had a little problem with Batman's disarm scenario. Did he have to work the bomb so long with a laser, just so it falls off? You'd think he could have just cut the belt with it, so the whole things falls of with the bomb.

I gave it a 4/10. I had the same problem with the movie as I did with the series, I simply didn't care about Barry's story as much as I did for the other characters' histories. At least with the comics there were tie-ins to fill in the gaps, and they were the ones I really wanted to read most. The main series, not as much. In the end I found it to be mostly boring because Barry was the last character I actually wanted to see. Shame.

Not to mention the awful voice acting from everyone (apart from the Batmen), the terrible "bad Korean" animation, and the hasty and weird flashback to explain the whole basis for the Atlantis/Themyscira war. [BLACKOUT]From my perspective it appeared to be entirely Arthur's fault for all of it. He forged the alliance with Diana & the Amazons, he's the one who appeared to seduce Diana while keeping Mera as his side piece of ass (even though she became his wife at some point), and when it all blew up in his face he couldn't accept responsibility and took it out on the whole world.[/BLACKOUT] IMO the most important part of Flashpoint became its biggest casualty.

Question about the movie: does it reset continuity like the comic? I can't help but wonder if the next film (Justice League: War) is evidence of that.

:doh:After watching this I must say this one stupid story I do not understand how Barry saves his mother will affect about how Theuams Wayne acting through exposure to theft or where Superman will land space ship or any Changes that have occurred

It's subtle/implicit in the movie, rather than explicit like the comic but I think those in the know would understand [BLACKOUT]Barry & Bruce's costume change at the end was meant to signify that Barry restored the timeline, but not exactly the way it was before. Plus the after-credits scene of parademons coming from a boom tube sets up the next movie.[/BLACKOUT]

they explained it in the film this way. by timetraveling the flash altered reality. sort of creating an alternate timeline, where everything is slightly different. of all the possible things that could happen when superman came to earth, this was one scenario. the same with batman's dad. that was one possible outcome of that night

The Top: ''Well, once again Flash... It looks like your the bottom and I'm the top''.

I nearly choked when I heard that. :o

Yeah, that was hilarious.

Something I didn't like was how nonchalant Barry was about his numerous broken fingers when he was explaining everything to Thomas. It's like... dude, your fingers are broken. At least sound like you're in excruciating pain while talking. I couldn't stop laughing when Barry put his flash ring on one of his good fingers, while the others were all broken and bent out of shape.

I love how Flash actually used an Anime move. Though it was nowhere near as powerful.

[BLACKOUT]Naruto's Rasengan.[/BLACKOUT] That was pretty sweet.

How many of you pirates are even going to bother supporting this?

This movie is in my top DC Animated movies list.

The trailers looked bad, but the movie proved to be great !

[BLACKOUT]I was really happy to see Aqualad in this, though he had no dialogue.[/BLACKOUT]

Agreed. Definitely one of the best of the DCAU.

I liked how they showed The Reverse Flash aka "Professor Zoom", also other flash villains.

It would be cool to see all of them in a live action movie, WB should have made a Flash movie years ago, I don't know what is the problem.

I know a lot of people really liked this movie but for me it was easily the worst thing to come out of DC animation in a very long time, especially considering their track record has always been pretty solid. From the voice acting to the dialogue to the ugly character designs to the completely unnecessary levels of graphic violence this movie was pretty terrible.
On the plus side if you don't take it seriously the movie's actually hilarious in a "so bad it's good" kind of way. I was legitimately crying from laughter multiple times watching this movie with my friends (granted we were all fairly stoned at the time). However I'll say that almost all the action scenes involving the Flash were awesome to watch as well the beginning scene with the JLA dealing with the bombs (particularly Superman's bit), also I loved how often Flashpoint Batman took a swig from his flask.

Have you read some of the actual DC comics before? The stuff that happened in this Movie was tame by comparison.

Yeah I've read and enjoyed DC Comics for over 15 years now but that doesn't mean I like the trend in modern super hero comics for shallow displays of blood and gore.

Pretty much why I laughed at some unintentionally funny moments.

This movie was incredibly brutal. Decapitations, amputations, bullets to the head (from batman no less) but I enjoyed it.

Wouldn't mind seeing Themyscira v Atlantis in a WW or JL movie now.

I wonder if they'd explore time travel in a flash stand alone movie. I love time-travel movies but they can get tricky.

I went into this movie with really low expectations; but I really loved it.

Not my animation style (I wish they had stuck a little closer to the JL designs of Doom or Crisis on Two Earths....IMO, it would have made this movie the best DTV yet.

Cool storyline and overall just a great, dark JL pic.

It was a lot edgier than previous films. It seems like that the new trend under James Tucker's watch.

I don't think Superman: Unbound was all that edgy...

So you can't really call one dark/violent movie in the line a trend under Tucker's watch.
