Flashpoint - DC Animated.

Did you also count the skinny Superman as well? Let's also not forget Aquaman who had the same problem

:whatever:Personally, I think the problem is the Faces any one not wearing a mask looks ugly and Superman his head look small compared with the shoulders :wow:

I could keep going.......But DVD movies could be made by continuing those unfinished plots.

So instead of adapting standalone stories, you want the DC animation to adapt continuity and continue stories from a +10 year old cartoon?

Great story and characters, but I only have one gripe with the movie, I did not like the way in which the male characters outside of both Batman, Green Lantern and Flash were drawn.

Like Superman:

and Aquaman:

All I could do was cringe, anyone agree?

:lmao:

And I thought I already had problems with Batman and Flash. Can't wait to see how everyone else looks.

What's time got to do with it? It's a cartoon. These characters don't age unless the studio wants them to.....AND those were original plot lines. Great stories! Luthor has the anti-life equation! How do you NOT produce an epic movie on that ?? Not rehashing a book that someone already wrote.

The stories could pick up where they left off....how would you know the difference?

When I see that pic of Superman I think of the ending of Beetlejuice haha

Enjoyable movie. Animation.....I hope they never go for that specific anime look again. Just about everyone looked bad. Sad that WW/AM storyline were really rushed. But the highlight of the story was the alt. universe didn't get a happy ending which is always a nice change of pace.

That's what you get when you rehash a book......

Considering they had tie-ins that expanded on it they could have expanded on it in the movie. I understand why they didn't due to WBs stupid time limit but not as if the material wasn't there to adapt.

Create original material, and you don't have this problem....

Direct Adaptations makes sense because marketing and recognition are already out there even before the project gets made. I think they should mix it up, but I have no problem with watching some of these stories animated.

You don't need a lot of marketing for these characters.....what you need are good stories.....original stories that you don't have to cut, in order to heed a time constraint.

Then you create a cool "trailer" (just like any new movie would do)....and there ya go!

Just watched the movie and I remember why I hated this event so much. To be honest I get why they did do Flashpoint so they can move into the new 52 but in the same the story and the reason behind the story just never interest me. Maybe it's because I am a huge Superman and out of Flashpoint he was the one most which in turn I felt he should have held a bigger role in Flashpoint in both the comic and the movie. I also just hope they draw Superman better in the new upcoming movie. The way he has been drawn lately is a crime in itself.

Freaking awesome movie, can't wait for JL: War. This was definitely the most violent film yet.

Btw for those who haven't seen it there is a tease for War after the credits, just something small :cwink:

Did you slip and watch it online BH?

I'm really trying not to.. How good is Kevin Conroy in it?

While I am looking forward to Flashpoint very much, I do agree that the latest animated stuff from DC is nowhere near the level of greatness the DCAU (JL/JLU, Superman: TAS, Batman: TAS) was. I hope they pick up in quality again soon. Everything from the stories to the artwork and characterization for most of the characters was awesome. Gold standard for any animated series.

That said, even the current animated DC stuff is still better than the animated stuff from Marvel.

I don't mind there not being original material. I like seeing adaptations of great comics.

Also, around half of the animated films they did were such radical deviations from the actual comic that they might as well be considered original material.

I thought the action was the most intense out of any JL movie so far.

I watched this last night, and while this wasn't the best DC Animated Film for me personally, it was definitely solid and I totally agree with it being the most intense action yet. It was pretty brutal.

Wow...another voice of reason.....Rehashing a book is just lazy. And you can never get all the things in the movie from the book.

Kevin....I posted early on this thread about making DVDs that tie up loose ends from those animated series......

1. What happened to the evil JL from "A Better World"? Do they escape and get revenge on their Batman?

2. I keep going back to Luthor and the Anti-Life equation....(epic)
What do you think?
