Fox, The Infamous Studio, At It Again!

This is what I have been saying. People are already bashing Wolverine even before it comes out. I can bet you that if that movie was at another studio, there wouldn't be so much automatic hate for it.

I said in the Tom Rothman hate thread that I was not going to boycott Wolverine and that I was going to judge Wolverine when it comes out, and you know what the responses I got were? "Well, you go ahead and support that crappy studio blah blah blah" and the same old crap over and over again.

I agree with you on this. I might not have much hope for the film because of the track record, but I will not judge it until I have viewed it and formed an educated opinion on it.

How the f*** am I supposed to know why these people are saying what they're saying? I'm only speaking from my own perspective. I don't know whether the people saying they dislike Fox are saying it because they dislike Fox or because it's 'the cool thing to do'. I know I'm certainly not. I'm saying it because I've watched A LOT of sh** films released by them.

Do I have to write 'in my opinion' after all the things I say? I would've thought that it was obvious that this is all my opinion because I'm the guy who's writing it.

So because you get some people jumping on the bandwagon, that makes people who have come to the same conclusion by looking at evidence nil and void? Bullsh**.

Fair enough about the people who keep jumping on the bandwagon, I agree. People who can't form their own opinions and decide to just follow the masses are stupid. But you have to understand, you get that everywhere. It's not productive to bring it into a discussion because you can't prove who these people are - you can't prove if they have formed their own opinion or if they've just spotted a poster they think is cool and thought, 'Oh shizzle, I want to agree with HIM!'
Calm down. I was not referring to you as one of those "haters". I'm just going by personal experiance and what I have seen in that other thread. I wasn't trying to say that you shouldn't have a opinion.

I'm calm. I'm calm.

I just get a lil over zealous sometimes. :)

Hey, I do it too. And I just suck at making an arguement:yay:

It's cool. I wasn't arguing with you. I just wanted to make sure that my opinion was being taken the right way. I know there are some people who judge without being familiar with the subject. I was just making sure that my opinion is not like that.

I can't tell you if Mars is a nice planet because I've never been there.

I don't know if murdering a cheerleader gives you an day-long erection because I've never killed.

You get what I mean. I only make a statement when I've got an educated opinion to back it up.

Don't worry, I understand. I'm sorry if I came across as rude:yay:

Let us know how this turns out. :D

I like how the people that said people whose dislike for Fox isn't warranted didn't reply to all the stuff I posted.

First of all, I just want to start this thread off with some real, bottom of the barrel, ----ty news. Of course, I'm talking about the wonderful studio we all know and love, Fox. And, I'm not talking about the reverse opposite studio of 20th Century Fox(a.k.a. Fox Searchlight, which is one of my favourite studios), I'm talking about quite possibly the worst studio there is. 'Slashfilm' earlier on today reported yet another slap in the face for movie-fans. As they are reporting that: "20th Century Fox Home Entertainment is going to start stripping rental DVDs SKUs of special features like commentaries and featurettes, in a horrendously misguided attempt to spur retail DVD sales". Now, I just want to send a shoutout to Tom Rothman, undoubtably the mastermind behind this "ingenius" new marketing strategy. Read the full report here:
http://www.slashfilm.com/2009/03/12/fox-to-remove-special-features-from-rental-dvds/

...So, again, this is just wonderful news.
First this news is horrible. and second there's a difference?

The thing is I honestly don't care. There are way more important issues on my plate than whether or not this Rothman guy is screwing movies up. Why? Because every single studio is more or less producing sh** these days. I absolutely hate just about 90% of the movies that come out.

In the last year I have only seen The Dark Knight, & Watchmen in theatres. & I have a friend that works at the video store, so he tosses me all the new releases. I can honestly say that with the exception of There Will Be Blood, No Country For Old Men, The Dark Knight, & Watchmen. There have been few movies that have sparked my passion in the last 10 years.

The Movie industry is a corporation now. None of these studios care about nothing more than how beans are counted at the end of the day. The delicate balance of art & business is severly one sided these days. Make no mistake it is all about the cheddar.

These days more movies are basically directed by the producers, not so much by the directors.

I could keep going, but I am just going to say this. The main reason why this doesn't bother me is simple. I am 30 years old. I have a whole catalogue of movies that I love & adore. I don't need anymore new movies, but is something wants to come out & surprise me Like No Country, There Will Be Blood, TDK, or Watchmen. Then I am all for it. But like the Comedian in Watchmen. I realise that these days the entire movie industry is a joke. No just one company.
You have more things on your plate yet you respond to my posts about how I think Fox is a bad studio on an internet message board:dry: Full plate:huh:

I agree that the movie studios are pretty much all money hungry film ****es nowadays but you can't hide the fact that Fox is easily at the top of that list. You not seeing a bunch of movies just cements the fact that you haven't seen their rapeage first hand....consider yourself lucky:cwink: Plus those films that you love and adore...how many of those are Fox flicks from the past 5 years???

Yes, 'Fox Searchlight' is the studio that put out such films as: 'Juno', 'Thank You For Smoking', 'The Wrestler', 'Slumdog Millionaire', 'Taken', 'Little Miss Sunshine', 'Sideways', among others.

This does not bother me. I rarely rent DVD's anyway. But you know what studio has balls? WB.

You see, Tom Rothman was a rapist in his past life, so in his current form, he is instead raping movies.

He raped Daredvil.
He raped Fantastic Four.
He tried to rape X-Men, but that ***** was a fighter, so it took him a few tries before the rape was successful (X3).
He sat back and watched Street Fighter rape itself (sometimes he just likes to watch).
He is currently raping Dragonball.
He raped Deadpool in a WOLVERINE movie, which I like to call "Indirect Rape".

And now, thanks to the 'word a day' calendar that Rupert Murdoch got him for Christmas, he has discovered the meaning of the word "reboot". This has caused Rothman to consider restarting Daredevil and FF, in a move I like to call 'double rape', or in F4's case 'rape squared'.
That is the funniest post ever! :pal:

But very true.:csad:

Haha, awesome :woot:

I never rented a DVD in my life. I buy the movies I really want and the rest, well.. you know.

Once jsut to do it and the second time becuase it went to the police.

I can't believe Hurwitz went back to FOX for Sit Down, Shut Up. Does Fox own the rights to the show or somethin?

I appreciate your passion, but I would suggest you focus all this passion on something that truly enriches your own personal life.

Thanks for your suggestion...maybe now I will finally be able to take my stalking career to a whole new level:up: Lets go JAL!!!

That's because they like 90 minutes comic book films. :oldrazz::o:csad:

I say it again, FOX can go blow a blow pop. What if some people don't have the money to buy a new dvd..can only rent it and want to see extras on the dvd? Well, now those people are screwed.
If they can't buy a new dvd they cant buy a tv to watch that dvd. Or a wall for that tv to go on. Or a house.

You sound racist and elitist...who are you:cmad:

Of perhaps he just doesn't care?

I mean, personally? I don't give a crap about the "fanboy perspective" on Fox. I like a lot of their movies - X-Men trilogy (yes, including X-Men: The Last Stand), Star Wars, yes I like the Fantastic 4 movies. The Simpsons Movie, Independence Day, Titanic - anyways yea, it's completely possible to be perfectly satisfied with the products that Fox releases.

I have ZERO bitterness towards a movie studio. They make movies. Entertainment. You either like the movies, or you don't. There's no reason to take it so personally (and yes, being a huge X-Men fan, I would be a "victim" of Fox, and know first hand what they can do to a movie - I STILL love the X-Men movies, think they were brilliant, and about 95% accurate to what I know and love about the X-Men).
It's not so much bitterness for me as sheer :facepalm . Or entertainment value watching the ensuing trainwreck. :hehe:

Oh it does. :o
