FOX's Gang Related

wow, when did FOX start letting their shows use the word "f**king" like they just did in tonight's episode?

This is the most I've watched FOX in a long time. Between this, 24, Brooklyn Nine-Nine and soon to be Gotham, they've done a good job of revitalizing their line up.

Just finished watching the season finale. WOW has this show gotten great or what? I'm still sad about what happened in the previous episode and this was the best way to end it for the season. I'm really hoping FOX gives it another shot before cancelling it, I would hate to see it suffer that fate.

Anyone else been keeping up with it?

I watched it completely through and while it was a bit rough early on, it did find a groove once it got all the introductions and world building done. Considering the genre and world they were working in and the pedigree of the writers/producers, you could tell they had to hold back on certain things. When I think of dirty cops, drugs, gun running, and gangs, I think of what The Shield put out there and this show was pretty tame at times due to having to hold back on profanity/violence/sex/drugs.

you're right... and regardless, I'm gonna predict that it'll get renewed... unless it's already been cancelled and I don't know about it... if it DOES, I'm really gonna miss this...

All caught up..and good finale. So Daniel is going to be the next Acosta kingpin! Great dynamic and it will be cool to see how his relationship changes with Lopex.

I swear Lopez has more close calls than Dexter Morgan when it comes to being discovered/caught!

As I have said before this and Power are the best new dramas this season.

I just noticed that Daniel's wife is the same actress from Power.

They did? I must've missed that :wow:

I was surprised how much I liked this show...surely it was a bit rough in the beginning but really found its groove towards the middle. BTW digging the multiple languages spoken in this show :word:

it sure sounded like someone said it, and it was the only time I ever heard it... it was near the middle of the season, I think...

I'd be surprised if someone actually did say it because I'm sure the FCC would have been all over them by now.

Not surprised seeing as how this was on Fox. This show would have done well on FX.

Some shows on FOX I would have expected them to cancel in their first seasons have gone on to have long runs. Fox may have a reputation for not given certain shows a chance, but there are also examples to the contrary; Sleepy Hollow and The Mindy Project for example. A supernatural action series with a black female co-lead, and a sitcom with an Indian-American female lead? That's pretty damn rare.

This show would have done well on FX.

There's no guarantee of that. If anything, there's more evidence to suggest that show wouldn't be have been anymore successful on FX than it was on Fox. The show didn't have nearly the level of depth as a Sons of Anarchy, or The Americans, or Justified. It sure as hell wasn't holding a candle to The Shield. despite having folks from that show involved. And it certainly didn't have the unpredictability of any of those shows, either.
