FOX's Marketing Technique: "What Happens Last/Remembered First?"

I'm a little concerned over Mission Impossible 3 getting a Superbowl spot, only a little though. Hopefully Fox's marketing will really kick in come March, if not before then.

With todays news that Bryan Singer is making an appearance at the Wonder Con in SF, i'm a little puzzled why theres no X3 presence at this event. Surely some footage must be complete for public viewing or at the very least a new poster??!

The New York Comic Con is coming up soon and so is Showest. This would be a great podium for fans and media alike to see if X3 is really as good they say it is. Does anyone have any inside info on upcoming appearance by X3 cast/crew at conventions and/or events?

Well, FOX has never seemed to be big on Wonder Con. There have been times when they skipped representation for that event. But ShoWest and Comic Con have been mediums they used before. In fact the Fantastic Four footage they unveiled at ShoWest was later built into a trailer.

I'll see if I can find out anything.

Will Da Vinci Code and Superman Returns have 'bowl spots? I've heard so many different stories I can't remember what's legit now.

zEh..Da Vinchi's code might.. but Superman probubly won't

WB hasn't announced a Superman Returns spot. Big mistake IMO. I can see X3 skipping it but not SR.

About marketing, has anyone tought about the release date and the FIFA World Cup? Perhaps in the US no one cares, but in the rest of the world is a major event, and here in Argentina Superman Returns opens two weeks later because of that. What gets me worried is that the world cup opens just 2 weeks after X3...

There will no superbowlspot for SR (major bummer) and as far as i know non for The Da Vinci Code.

Poseidon, V For Vendetta, 16 Blocks, MI: 3, Running Scared,The World's Fastest Indian and Shaggy Dog are this years movie spots. *shakes head*

The World Cup is on the TV. Quite a few people will have already seen X-Men 3 within 2 weeks.

I doubt a football will cause a problem for X-Men 3,

Why what, chum?

Why do you think SR needs the Superbowl exposure and X3 doesn't?

And did you call me....a chum? :p Do we still use that word?

Well X3 is coming from an already established and successful 2 films. While a Superbowl spot would help it...it doesn't NEED it. I think them saving a couple of mil on spot could be a good move.

Now Superman has been off the big screen for 20 years. It needs exposure because it is a franchise that is being reintroduced to the public (like Batman Begins which HAD a SB spot AND was a WB film.) And come on...it is the SUPERbowl. I thought a spot would be guaranteed.

It is also the single largest international gathering of motion picture professionals and theatre owners in the world, with delegates from more than 50 different countries in attendance each year.
