Appart from the exciting Top billing discussion recently :woot: and the recent great news of John Ottman back, Halle Berry almost confirmed and The Hobbit III pushed back, lets talk a little bit about what we would love to see from Fox marketing team, on all areas, but in the long run, since this right moment, and the short one, closer to release.

We already know that DOFP will be present on San Diego Comic Con, thanks to Bryan Singers twitter, but what more stuff do you expect this time? taking into acount that this is Fox Big Event movie of their comic properties, and at the same time, taking into account what other studios have done with their big movies, and what Fox has done with the previous x-men movies.

So lets be realistic, but dont be shy either :woot:

Oh, and at the same time, since we still are more than a year away from the sequel release, wont be a bad idea to remember the marketing stuff of previous x-men movies. :xmen::xmen:

As The Wolverine opens less than a week after Comic Con they could show a teaser trailer there, and then attach it to The Wolverine. I suppose they could get some of the cast together at Comic Con, like Marvel did with The Avengers.

yeah, that would be an epic moment, and the whole press would post pics and interviews all around the world. Im sure Fox wants a similar impact the Avengers cast reunion had back on 2011.

Its a smart move, wheter some fans would see it as Fox copying Marvel moves. A smart move is a smart move

Yes, I agree with that.

And they could even make The Wolverine teaser a bit different (an extra scene/reveal) than the one at Comic Con.

Getting the cast together at Comic Con has to happen, at least the main cast members who have been announced.

I think 4 actors of each timeline would be perfect, and more than enough to have great photos of the impressive cast for the press and fans alike.

On other hand, after seeing the latest Game of Thrones individual posters, I think one shoots like those would be really great for this sequel.

So I couldnt resist to do this:

Imagine posters like these with all the main characters, including Mystique, Rogue, Kitty, Iceman, Beast, Magneto and co. :wow:
Fox HAS to do it, the more posters, the better

Release of bunch of individual character posters featuring character from the past and future. Release some promo art of the Sentinels.

Have u seen the latest Oblivion banner?

The quality is impeccable, and such a beautiful shot, with that apocalyptic vibe. Would love to see stuff like this from DOFP, specially with the x-men of the future.

To imagine Rogue, Iceman, Kitty, Wolverine and co. on a banner like this :wow:

They should do a mockup of the original DOFP poster or something

definetly!! That would be a great decision, and a really cool nod to the fans. And the net would appreciate the nod too, comparing it with the comic cover.

Im sure both fans and haters would like something like that, as a promo poster

I don't know about you but that shot of the bridge reminds me too much of TLS.

With the merging of the OT characters and First Class characters for this film, I wouldn't blame them if they use the standing around posters that they've been doing since X2.

of course it reminds TLS, the point was just the beauty of shots like that, I wasnt meaning Fox copying exactly the same shot/bridge idea.

Just a great shot like that, showing the apocalyptic world of that future controlled by Sentinels

-Character posters for all of the characters! Blockbuster movies do it allllll the time! Look at Harry Potter, GI Joe, Iron Man 3 for example. Also they have to do a lot of posters and exclusive posters for IMAX 3D.

-Viral sites. This is really cheap to produce and this is to build hype at the internet world. Also create campaigns in Twitter and Facebook.

-SuperBowl Ad next year. If FOX really wants this movie to be huge then they should show an ad or trailer for next year's Superbowl. It doesn't guarantee that the movie will be a success if show an ad during the Super Bowl. But millions of viewers are watching the game/show and this is a great opportunity to build interest and attention to general public.

-Merchandise and tie-in products such a videogame, action figures, toys, 3D glasses, t-shirts, comic-book, novel adaptation, things that people would buy after or before they watch the movie.

-FOX should also get sponsorship like Pepsi, Coke, 7Eleven, Dunkin Donut. They have it before with X2 and X3 and they should do it again.

-The film should open in more than 4,000 theaters. The film would get more money if it open in a lot of theaters.

-Attend Comic-con with the cast and show some footage there to get the fans really excited

-Attach a teaser trailer at the after-credits scene of The Wolverine. Casual viewers who doesn't know this movie will know that this movie will happen if they watch The Wolverine.

you pretty much posted everything Fox could do, lol

If they achieve almost all of those possibilities, the impact could be really Huge

We can dream! What a great wishlist. It'll be interesting to see which of these things happens.

FOX can do a lot with promoting this movie especially if they are willing to spend $200 million for the production of the movie. They are gonna get their money faster, if they promote this very well.

I doubt we'll even get a fraction of that sadly.

All I really want is some Comic Con footage/teaser/trailer, some of the main actors to appear at Comic Con and to have the teaser/trailer play at the beginning or the end of The Wolverine :D

Probably not.

Look at their marketing for The Wolverine so far. They only held a live chat at YouTube and tweeted some backstage photos. And the trailer is gonna arrive a bit late.

I definitely need a names trailer by next year, I wouldn't mind if they reuse Stromberg's "Hiroshima/Nagasaki Requiem" for it.

Nice wishlist psylockolussus!:woot:

-An Art Of... book is a must:o
-Some stylish posters like the teaser poster for The Wolverine.
-IMAX 3D release
-The tie-in deals have dwindled since X3. I don't expect it to be on the level of Skyfall but half of that would be nice for DOFP.
-Extended cuts of the orginal trilogy on dvd...

In May it will 10 years since the release of X2, in 2014 Wolverine turns 40 and in September of this year the X-Men comics will be celebrating it's 50th anniversary!:xmen:

Singer exec produced a good Superman documentary called "Look, Up in the Sky! The Amazing Story back in '06 (i have it on dvd)which details the history of the Superman franchise. Maybe something similar could be done for X-Men?

To tie into these anniversaries, i'd also like to see some comic artists from past and present draw their favorite moment/scene from the X-Men movies in their own style.

Brilliant!!! I'd love a documentary like this. There's kinda one like it on the X3 Blu-ray bonus disc. It's called Generation X. But it only focuses on the comics. There should really be a documentary that focuses on all the interations of the X-Men; the first wave of comics, the new team coming in, finally getting a cartoon produced, the original trilogy being produced.

I'm all for it :D

Yeah, there's soooo much history/material to mine from that one 2 hour documentary might not even be enough!

They should air a documentary about the film series on a cable network or FOX!

And do a couple of premiere night around the world and not just in U.S.
