Friday The 13th Video Game

I really want the part 4 skin in the game, it's probably my favorite Jason look with the axe mark in the hockey mask.

I also liked that with part 4 they gave Jason rotted, black nails. And nothing against part three but I also felt unmasked part four Jason had a better look than three as well.

I hope that if part 4 Jason does make his way into the game as DLC that he has somewhat more speed than Jason from parts two and three since Ted White did actually move quicker in four than Steve Dash & Richard Brooker in two and three respectively.

You ever see the original look for unmasked Jason in part 3 before they changed it to what we see in the final film? I actually wish they'd stuck with it in the film.

Yeah, in that scene his design was way more monstrous. As much as I love part three, I feel like they were going for some Pig-Man type of look.

All in all, I wish we could get that entire dream sequence of Jason decapitating Chris to see it in action but alas, that piece of film has been forever lost/destroyed. It would've been so much better than the ending we got.

The story campaign is still being released as dlc sometime post launch? So the main game is purely online or is there an offline option like against the a.i.?

Completely online only until the single player DLC drops which will be a free update.

Well ****, I guess I'll wait for that update before getting the game. I don't have and won't get a gold membership anymore until Battlefront II or Red Dead 2(whichever is first) comes out.

I don't know...I'm thinking about still purchasing before they release the single-player mode. I don't much care for the fact that you'll only be able to play online, but it might be a caveat I can let slide in this case.

This thread has been surprisingly quiet considering the game is out in just over a week;

I will be getting it as soon as funds allow. This is the only multiplayer game I'm honestly interested in this year.

I'm getting it next month or might just wait until the single player campaign comes out

Day 1 purchase for me. This will be the first game I buy in about 2 years.

I just went ahead and bought/pre-ordered it earlier this month to get it out the way (first game I've bought since God of War III seven years ago). I'm not a big multi-player guy, but I think this will be one of those rare exceptions where it'll be fun and immersive. Still, I can't wait for that single player update later on this year.

Also, from what I can see on the forums for the game, there is a chance that, depending on the success of the game, we could end up getting part 4 Jason, Roy, Jason X/Uber Jason (they're already working towards figuring out a map for this one) and FVJ Jason.

The developers have said reboot Jason is a tougher grab, but FVJ is something that's a possibility. I also think that the Savini Jason may not be the only new design we'll get. There may even be a chance we'll get to play as Pamela at some juncture.

Since they're intent on making this the "end all, be all" of F13th games, there's going to be a lot of juicy DLC coming down the pipeline. :D

To kinda put things in perspective for the folks that are weary of the multiplayer aspect of it, when you're playing as a counselor, they aimed to make it feel like a single player survival horror experience, the key difference you can choose to aid your fellow counselor's or **** them over.

When you're playing as Jason, it's basically Manhunt with powers which is fine.

I'm actually more interested to play as a counselor than Jason himself from what I've seen from beta footage.

I can see why you feel that way. As much as I'm anticipating being able to play as various Jason's, I'm equally as interested to explore being a counselor and seeing how many times I get killed before I can successfully escape. :funny:

It's also worth noting that the game developers have gone on record in saying that during play tests, Jason was only successfully killed 1 out of every 70-75 games. I like that trying to take down Jason isn't something that'll come easy, and from match to match will likely require a specific set of events to even allow that possibility to come to fruition.

Doesn't it depend on who's playing as Jason? Could be a player who knows all the tricks or someone who just plays it casual and make it easier for other players to kill him or for them to survive the night

I don't think they've made the system that simple. I mean, I do agree it may depend on who's playing Jason, but there are likely to be certain variables from match to match that have to add up in order to accomplish it.

I can't see it being a "one method works for all" type of thing. Otherwise there'll be a lot of dead Jason's and chances are the game will be boring after a short while: two advents Gun Media & Illfonic definitely want to avoid.

I can't wait to play in some of the movie famous locations. Higgins Haven from part 3 is going to be my first stop if possible. Then the counselor training center from part 2.

From what iv heard, certain parameters will need to be met and on top of that those parameters are going to be randomly generated every match.

Not at launch and the "campaign" will just be an offline mode of the MP. The player will control Jason with bots controlling the counselors.

Damn I thought they said they were going to work on an actual campaign? Well that's disappointing.

I guess it's always possible, but the game isn't really built for a true campaign. It's built to basically settle the argument of "could I survive a Friday the 13th movie" and "if I were Jason, how many counselors could I take out". They aren't really interested in telling a story or anything of the such. It's developed COMPLETELY with multiplayer in mind.

"Does the game have single player?

The game will include single player, however it will come as an update in Summer 2017. We originally started as a multiplayer only game but were able to secure additional funding to expand the game. Single player will consist of objective-based missions where you take control of Jason. You’ll get to see missions that will remind you of the movies, as well as entirely new scenarios to sink your machete into!

We will also include offline counselor bots that you’ll be able to fight against without needing an online connection!"

I'm pretty sure they will/are working on a campaign. I wouldn't be too bummed about it because it'll eventually be added. They want this to be the end all, be all of F13th games so they have stated they want to add as many features as they can.

It's really only a matter of how successful the game is. That pretty determines if and when we'll get those features.
