Friends...How many of us need them

I don't quite "need" my friends, but I enjoy their company than being left to my own devices. Solitude brings emo thoughts. Friends bring jokes at the mere mention of emo thoughts. Solitude < friends.

I couldn't exist without my friends. They're my family, and while I value my time alone, I couldn't just not have friends.

I love it when I'm with my friends...but when I'm away from my friends I don't miss them or really try to hard to keep in touch with them. Out of sight out of mind.

I haven't had any close friends in some time.

Funnily enough, I'm the same way. I love to be around my high school buds, but I haven't gone out of my way to call them since we all move past school.

I want some!!! afternoons are getting boring ( no ofence to the board)

I have four very close friends. I hardly see them though they live in the same city because we are busy playing online and yelling inside jokes to each other.

I pick random people at my university through Facebook and then hunt them down in real life and make them be my friends. :ninja:

I'm an introvert ( surprise!:whatever: ) so I don't go out of my way to make new friends. However, I've enjoyed several true friendships for decades and I'd die for those people. My life wouldn't be the same without them.

Honestly, I really don't need friends. Through most of grade school, I talked to plenty of kids there and made some "school friends" but not hang out with them outside of school. In high school, I got to be a bit more friendly. I had a group of close friends, but I concluded that when you have close friends you gain A LOT of problems and drama. The way I see it, I like friends once in awhile. But I really like to be by myself. I'm very "brooding" as everyone says. I've never called my friends once, either, they always call me. It seems harsh but I always say, "Remember, I'm your friend. Your not mine."

So, no, I don't needs friends.

I've betrayed two childhood friends in the past and lost them forever. I regret that every day and haven't been the same since. I still have a few close friends, but I've been doing the whole loner thing, as some put it and distance myselves from them. It sucks. In time I'm sure I'll lose them too.
However...I'll never forget the feeling of what having true friends mean. And if I could go back and change it, I wouldn't trade that feeling for 1million dollars.... 2million on the other hand.... Naw I'm just joking.:woot: I would never trade the good times with my friends for anything.

i'd say in my life i've only ever had 6 or 7 "true" friends; but i've had a few hundred acquaintances, and i can't see myself being very happy without either of the two.

Have you ever gone a majority of your life without friends and everything was cool, but at some point you actually do get and friends and you realize that maybe you were better off being by yourself?
Wow, what an incredibly emo thread :down

Meh... I don't find myself dependent on people, I do enjoy my solitude but I don't think you can go through life without friends, you always need friends for when the **** hits the fan, etc... However I find I enjoy the company of my work, more than going out and getting drunk :) With that said... I've never been backstabbed by any of my friends... Perhaps it's because I'm far too independent or I'm far too open a person, or I'm a good judge of character... eh... Whatever the case may be...

Ummm....no. I don't think being by yourself and having zero friends is healthy.

I had friends when I was in college. Then when I graduated in 2001, we all went our own way, and I'm just too damn lazy to find out where they went to.

I get along with everyone I work with, though that's simply so the work can be made more enjoyable.

But for friends in town, no. Memphis is filled with nothing but ********s

People who say that probably just have crappy friends.

And people who don't have friends and say they don't need them are just compesating.

Friends are what its all about......

My GF's are sisters......my BF's are brothers..........

It's nice to have friends that are considered family.....

I have two close friends, dispite having lots of acquaintances

what are friends? friends are really your enemies with secret identities that hide thier true colors. so just when you think ya'll close enough to be brothers, they want to come back and backstab you.

You forgot the part where there really your friend so they can sleep with your hot sister... or mom

Like I said, I got boys I chill with. I don't do that, "dude, you are like my best friend, omg, let's go get our nails done" type of thing. The weekend comes, I may be like, "ya'll wanna do something?" Very casual.
