Animation Frozen 3 (2027)

To me, she always came across as asexual.

Also I highly doubt they'll pair her up with Hans for a variety of reasons.

Aroace Elsa is the other popular option... Unless you shipped her with someone from the second film like a certain poster. :o

I mean... considering what occurred with Wish's production, I'm not exactly sad to see her go.

I’m not surprised to see her step down she had hits in Encanto and Raya but then had flops in Strange World and Wish. I like Wish but it definitely could’ve used more rewrites and sadly embarrassed Disney as its flagship film for the 100th anniversary. It is good that she’s now directing Frozen 3&4 though.

Was Strange World bad or did it just came out at the wrong time?

Disney barely marketed it to begin with and quality wise, it was eh.

Not bad just mid. Then being badly marketed didn’t help at all. Maybe it could’ve done better in a March release date but you'd still have to get Disney to market the damn thing. It feels like they just did it to say “hey we tried to give the gays something and it failed”. I also hated the character designs lol.

I'll back Wish over Strange World any day. SW was trying way too hard to be weird without any real creativity and Denis Quaid's character was a jerk. And the twist that was clearly an attempt to reference Discworld felt random.

The 1-2 punch of Strange World/Wish reminded me of Disney's 2000s era when their animation studio barely had any hits. Raya also came and went. Encanto was the only winning product so far in the 2020s.

It is kinda sad that they have to resort to sequels (Moana 2/Zootopia 2/Frozen 3/Frozen 4) to secure another hit and this is going to be like this for a long while.... so sigh. A new ip or another film based from popular fairy tale would have been far more interesting, maybe Goldilucks, Rumplestiltskin, Red Riding Hood or finally Jack/ the Beanstalk aka Gigantic. I wish we got that film over Wish/Strange World.

They have an original film slated for 2026.

Ngl, i really dont care much about this, Frozen 2 barely had a story and they didnt know what to do with the characters besides Elsa, but not that it matters, it'll probably make a billion too.

This at least sounds like we have a story this time. Calm down.

Also, would like to have a proper villain this time. With Disney trying to get back into proper straight-face villains now, we really should have one this time, whether it's Hans again or someone else. The concept art seems to imply someone with a Viking helmet.

Would be best not to replicate Frozen 2's troubled production, yes.

I'm shocked they care that much. Moana 2 proved to them that they can coast by doing the bare minimum and still make a billion.

I would imagine that Anna and Kristoff might face some obstacles to their getting married since Kristoff is a commoner. I'd be surprised if the court would be just like, oh, OK, yeah, you can marry this guy who can't bring any power or wealth to the marriage. At least it would give Kristoff something to do besides be the background comic relief boyfriend.

It's not our fault he's boring. :o

That's the problem, he shouldn't be boring. He's a misanthrope who was raised by trolls and should have major cultural clashes with the protocols of the court. Plus he's played by Jonathan Groff who's got a higher profile after his recent successes on Broadway, especially as King George III in "Hamilton". He got a little bit more to do in Frozen II but it still wasn't much. I'm just hoping they can do more with his character, but I won't be holding my breath about it. Most of the attention will be going to Elsa and Olaf.

I know this is a wildly hot take but I thought Kristoff got the best song in the movie in Frozen II.
