At some point or another, Marc Webb is going to have to hang up his Spidey outfit--I mean leave the director's chair, and let someone else take over. We don't know how long he is willing to stay; he could leave after TASM2 for all we know, or even stay for all four planned movies.

What are some director's you would like to see at the helm?

If JJ Abrams wasn't busy with the whole Star Trek/Star Wars shenanigans, I would love to see his take on our favorite web-slinger. His two Star Trek films are fantastic IMO, and I think he could make a really cool Spidey flick "mystery box" with tons of action, and several plot twists/turns.

Barry Sonnenfeld is the most likely director on this list, which I'd love

Jon Favreau, this guy would be great. He did amazing with Ironman, I thought he really did a good job of grasping who Tony Stark is, and how his demeanor should be

Proyas would be great.

David Fincher.

Also rumored at one time to be the director of the reboot, but he said he couldn't see himself directing a Spider-Man film, but I think he could. A very psychological take that could use up villains like Mysterio or Chameleon...I'd be down for that

Nonsense to mention Christopher Nolan on the poll...surprise this thread didn't become a bash Nolan kind of thread...

Jesus Anno, not every Marvel fan hates Nolan. I would actually like Nolan to have a role similar to what he had in MOS.

J.J Abrams? Wallopin Websnappers, imagine the lens flares!

He is my choice as well!

I'd like to see another reboot in the future, *dodges tomatoes* with Jon at the helm with an unknown cast.

I think another interesting director would be Brad Bird, who has done The Incredibles, The Iron Giant, Ratatouille, and Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol off the top of my head. :D

Yes! Jon Favreau or Brad Bird if there's a new director in later films or in a (hopefully) distant future. Perfect!

Haha! My man, Dylan O'Brien, as Spidey!

Check out almost every thread in the 'Marvel Films' area that mentions Nolan's name, lol.

The reason for the flares is the 35 mm anamorphic format. It's certainly not exclusive to Abrams' films, although he does seem to go out of his way to make them happen as much as possible.

Look at MoS, I haven't seen the film yet (hope to this week) but even in the ads you see the lens flares. It was also shot with anamorphic lenses. Ditto for TASM2 next summer.

I know, just having some fun. :woot:

I would go for Alfonso Cuaron. This guy makes great movies and has great vision, I think you can't miss with him. Just for example, he directed one commercial (and blockbuster) movie before, it was 3rd Harry Potter which is considered maybe the best one in the series...

David Fincher.

If they decide to keep Vanderbilt on as a screenwriter, then I'm sold. I think they could deliver a mystery thriller with Chameleon as the main villain.

My list:
Matthew Vaughn
Brad Bird
JJ Abrams
Gary Ross
