when i mentioned harry potter, i meant how the cgi was better in that than gi joe, not the overall movie quality

Oh ok. Well, I'm sure they had a bigger budget.

Carol Channing and Tatum Oneil would have been a better acting Duke than Channing Tatum.

If they went and digitally replaced Channing Tatum with a rock, the quality of this movie would have increased tenfold.

i heard, if u draw a face on the channing tatum duke figure
it just fades 2 nothing in seconds :wow:

seriously, a brick wall has a greater acting range than him

Wow, you must have spent all day coming up with that one. You truly excel at wasting time. :woot:

The film needed moar Rachel Nichols!

At least the sequel had been set up. Some of the film feel a bit like X-men e.g Duke & Ripcord vs Baroness = Logan with Rogue vs Sabertooth, and the 'In the non too distant future' tag.

People hated TFROTF but for all the idiotic reasons such as the humping dogs, Devastator's testicles, the hip-hop ghetto Autobot twins, two sets of Constructicons, Bayformers, Sam's mom high on MJ.

Here's news for you all GET OVER IT!! the movie was good, it had a story that was easy to follow and if you found it hard to follow then stick with your emo Twilight novels.

G.I.Joe is a good example in that if you ignore the already horrible costumes and casting and focus on the story itself you'll find out that it is a bad movie, there is no character development, it's just one big action scene after another not to mention bad acting from Channing.

I love big action movies but only when there done right (Die Hard, Face/Off) and this movie is just one big dissapointment.

seriously? is this opposite land? G.I. Joe had a nice, simple story. Transformers had ridiculous plot points that seemed to be made up as it went along. G.I. Joes was miles better than Transformers. the only thing Reveng of the Fallen has over Rise of Cobra is the CGI

I enjoyed the film and look forward to the second. I thought pretty much all the actors did great and I really loved Dukes character and hope he's centure role again in the next one. I thought the action was great too. My favorite scene was at the end when the villain got sent to prision and said this is not the end Duke its just the begining. It was a pretty cool scene. I gather the next one will be about him trying to get revenge on Duke in many ways after escaping.

When I first heard there was a G.I. Joe movie being made I didn't know what to think. I thought I didn't know anyone who would actually want to see it and it turns out I do know someone, but that's another story and his taste is bad anyway. In short, at the very mention of the name I expected total, unmitigated crap.

To make matters worse the director turns out to be Stephen Sommers, world renowned for getting money to turn stupid ideas into even stupider movies. :whatever: There was no hope. None whatsoever.

Well, long story short, I saw a Rotten Tomatoes rating that made me think it might not be so bad, so I went and saw it today...

What a decidedly mediocre piece of nonsense.

But I'm actually really impressed that this movie didn't completely suck balls! It managed to pull off a sort of low-brow semi entertaining vibe throughout it's running time that left me kind of neutral about the whole experience. A nine year old might even enjoy it.

3/10

read the first few pages, but haven't seen the flick yet. But is it a suprise that Dennis Quaid sucks donkey nuts? I think out of the zillion movies he's done, I've only seen him be mildly good in 2 of them (inner space and that baseball movie).

How are those bad reasons to hate the movie? They're perfectly legitimate. In fact you listing them one after the other is a great way to prove that the movie sucked.

Also, the word "there" is a way to point out a location of something. The word you're looking for is "they're".

Let's review class!

Their = possessive!
They're = contraction of "they are"!
There = adverb used to indicate the place of something!

OK? Hand in your papers at the end of class. :yay:

goin this afternoon, but I gotta say, when you guys write: 'if you go in with an open mind'. The audience shouldn't have to go in with an open mind, they should be able to go in, in any state of mind, and the film should win them over. We shall see.

yeah well sometimes fanboys go into movies with pre concieved notions

I dont understand why people thought Dennis Quaid did not do a good job at acting in this movie. He wasn't playing a serious drama character in this movie, I though he nailed the cartoon General Hawk character perfect. This wasnt supposed to be The Kingdom or Black Hawk Down, etc, so not sure what some people were expecting when they went in seeing this film. People keep forgetting that it is supposed to have cheesey moments and comedic moments, or I guess I just missed the seriousness from the cartoons and the comics when I was a kid.:whatever: They better indeed make a sequel or yea this film would leave you hanging way too much. Hope the next film will have B.A.T's and Hiss Tanks of some sort.

To do a movie like that, it needed good actors, and Channing Tatim wasn't one of them.

It WASNT a movie like that therefore it didnt need the same acting caliber as those films, I think you misunderstood my previous comment.

But here's the rub, it SHOULD have been a movie with better acting. The only truly good actor in this movie was Dennis Quaid, and he was MIA for the whole second act of the movie.

and calling DQ good is questionable at best.
