If this was called something like Covert Ops or Special Missions Force. Stripped away all of the nostalgia. Try and view this as a normal movie. Its a bad movie just on the acting alone.
Dennis Quaid dialed in his performance. I've seen him act FAR better in other movies (The Rookie anyone?).
Christopher Eccleston is a fine actor, but when he performs as a villain. His makes them seem wimpy or what's the word .... whiny.
Channing Tatum, I don't mind him usually in a film, but this one was lackluster and all of his faults as an actor shown through in this performance.
Sienna Miller, Rachal Nicols, Byunh-hun Lee, and Ray Park were fine. Especially Ray Park.
Adewale Akinnouye-Agbaje, seriously he was in the movie? He had like what 10 lines total? I never really got into his character. Same goes for Breaker (Said Taghmaoui), I never really felt for his character. If he died? He died.
The best was Karolina Kurkova as Covergirl. I mean really. She never freaking spoke. The only thing she did was stand behind Hawk at the NATO meeting with MARS, hand Hawk a stat sheet for Duke and Ripcords evaluation, and then say sign these; then proceeds to get stabbed in the back via Zartan.
What I'm trying to say is there was no character development. None. No explanation about where and how GI Joe was founded. No reason as to why they exist, but to presumably stop COBRA, even though at this time they have no idea who they are.
Call it movie snob, or what have you. I tried to give this film the benefit and go into this movie with an open mind. I was like Okay this will be a new take on GI Joe; separate the comic, toyline, and cartoon from this. Its a whole new franchise. I left more depressed, because of that decision.

and yes I already reviewed this film, but I felt inclined to say something after reading BlackLantern's expulsion on Hype's typical reviews.

The delivery was so deadpanned that myself and almost the entire theater ... a) broke out in laughter. B) I could hear some people say it back verbatim, yet add a bit more emotion than Tatum did.Duke: Rex, you son of a b^%$$.
