The Lannisters havent lost their ancestoral home and been spread across westeros. There is also a Lannister on the throne. And Lady Stoneheart isnt really Cat. Its her reanimated corpse, but what came back is not the Cat that died. So thats hardly a resounding victory for the Starks.

The Lannisters and Stark's have almost totally different strengths and weaknesses:

-The Lannisters head family has a lot of problems in regards to their inheritance, but a strong base of branches and cousins; the main line has serious problems, but they've got plenty of Lannisters in the wings. The Stark's on the other hand have no cousins in the books, but a clear line of succession and numerous "pups" that's still standing even after the Red Wedding and other disasters.

-The Stark's together increase their strength; the Lannisters destroy each other when together.

-One Lannister taken prisoner unites them into an effective and focused fighting force; the Starks have their biggest infighting once one of them is taken hostage.

If the next two seasons are really going to be 7 and 6 episodes then we are hours away from the last major Episode 9 of the series.

Nah he will get his and it would be fitting if Ghost got the honors. But if I had to guess Sansa might be the one to end him.

because he loved to let his dogs eat his enemies. Let him experience the same horror of being eaten alive. Maybe after Sansa cuts his junk off and feeds it to Ghost. or even better feed him to his own dogs.

One thing I thought would be cool but they'd never do it is to have Ghost leave for a bit just before the battle. Then once they face off and Bolton has his pikesmen and shields all lined up in front you see Ghost and he starts howling and it's answered by hundreds of howls and from behind we see hundreds of wolves with Nymeria and Ghost leading the charge attacking their vulnerable flank causing those in the front to turn to defend themselves as John and the rest charge from the front and catch them in a pincer attack.
Then we see Littlefinger and the Knights of the Vale come in to mop up. Perhaps they were even waiting to see who might win so they would be on the "winning side". Just like Littlefinger not to stick his neck out too far.

I won't happen but it would be cool. I know if Ghost doesn't survive I'm gonna be one sad camper. I'm ready to lose Wun Wun but not another Direwolf.
