Not a lot happened in episode one, but that's fine. I guess since I viewed all the seasons after they aired I'm used to binging a season at a time. The weekly thing will be a change. Can't wait till next week.

Yeah it's the first episode so it makes sense. I felt the difference having watched the last 3 episodes of last season directly before.

Same as all the other GoT premieres: basically showing us where everyone is, lol.

It was just letting us know where everyone is at. Sets the stage for the mayhem to come.

Didn't really need the 2-minute montage of Sam cleaning **** and gagging.

Loved that cold open intro of the North of the Wall march. Wight Giants. Badash.

Sams scene was stupid as hell... jon and sansa bickering was straight up Oliver and Thea CW ********... Hounds vision was hilarious...

other than that... good episode... Eurons proposal was great... and visually everything looks fantastic... the all black iron fleet... the wight giants... dragonstone scene was amazing

I'm glad that Euron was a bit more interesting this time than when we've seen him before.

Tormund: I guess I'll go to Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.

*Later*

The Hound: People are going to die at Eastwatch-by-the-Sea.

That was... straightforward.

yea and rory looked like he couldnt believe he was a part of such an out of place hound scene lol

I will say though, I'm not the biggest Daenerys fan (on the show at least), but the Dragonstone scene gave me chills.

Character or actress? Or both?
I am on the West Coast. I like to watch in HD on my cable box first time around.
Oh right. I'd thought the times had been streamlined across timezones (with the UK at 2am and I guess 9pm East Coast, so had assumed 6pm West).

Really glad I watched a 90 minute season summary and the last few episodes of last season before starting so everything felt fresh.

Probably both. I like her well enough in the books.

I like the actress but think there are a fair number of others who could have been much better in this role. And she's had quite a lot of boring material (in between the great stuff).

Well I definitely find Clarke to be the weakest acting link on the show. The character? Eh, I just think she should be a lot more compelling than she is. And I don't think that's entirely down to the weak acting (though it certainly doesn't help).

A thought struck me. The prophecy says Cersei will be killed by a brother. Speculation has been that it will be Jaime or Tyrion. But now I'm thinking it might be Arya wearing Jaime's face.

I like to picture Cersei defiantly sitting on the throne face to face with a dragon right before it burns her alive and the throne melts and fuses with her charred skeleton leaving this heap of bone and steel on the floor and the old Westeros left behind for a new era under a new ruler.
