Might be an old interview but It was just posted on that site today and the news of this "Gator" character is new to us.

I bet this is a nod to Killer Croc (Ellis is black, as Croc was in the comics, and "Gator"?), but I'd highly, highly doubt we'll ever see Killer Croc in his reptilian form, or that Ellis will have a role of any significance as far as screen time goes. It's probably just a nice little Nolan comic reference that only we'll "get", like Victor Zsasz in Batman Begins, nothing more.

That's what I've got from anything I've seen or read of him. I'd be surprised if he wasn't. It's like Panthro from Thundercats. When I found out he's black I was surprised, but it ALL made sense.

I don't care for these cameos. If Nolan's just going to put anyone up on screen and have it be a half-hearted attempt to appease the fans, what's the point? Zsasz looked and acted nothing like he does in the comics-admit it. Falcone and Flass looked nothing like their comic counterparts either. It's no fun for me if you just have vaguely similar characters running around in the movie when versions closer to the comic could be done easily anyways. Croc just has a skin condition. It wasn't until Hush or so when he really got all mutated-not a great turn for the character if you ask me. My favorite version of him is the more human one, seen in Broken City and throughout the War Games arc.

He's Croc in spirit if not name. GATOR, yes, hello. He'll be written with purpose not just a flimsy shoehorned cameo, and yes he'll 'be realistic'. He was not always a revert-amphibian and like Joker, Scarecorew or Ra's Croc is subject to interpretation.

saw a description of Killer Croc on another thread and thought i'd try and visualise it...

the basic description was that instead of a mutated person he would have his "scales" tattooed onto his body, giving the appearance of outlandish freak like looks... his teeth would also be gold/silver caps, possibly in points...

it could work, so here's my quickie interpretation... i'm only using an image of Goldie for the teeth...

You might be referring to my post in the Sequels forum. that's pretty near to what I was imagining. Great base photo too
