I can only imagine how nice this will be when it drops! King of the Hill is the shizz!!

Yea it may very well be the most polished MP title on the market. Epic is killing it if this beta is any indication.
 
Grrr... I wish I could of pre-ordered. But I'm broke after I bought MK last week. Why couldn't Epic of had the beta in July? :(
 
Why don't you just put down 10 bucks on a pre-order to get the code?
 
Can someone explain to me the point of the sawed off? I mean you have to be extremely close for it to work, but if you are that close the Gnasher works just as well. Whats the positive with going with the sawed off vs gnasher?

Good point. Multikills are a big plus though, especially in KOTH.
 
Oh, can it kill multiple ppl at once where as the Gnasher cant?
Yeah, gnasher can only kill one at a time due to its more focused spread while multi-kills with DBS happen all the time.

Same. It's actually starting to bug me a little.

One of the reasons I dont like COD and alot of FPS multiplayer is that IMO its not as much skill as it is just sneaking up on people.

I really hope they work on the respawn issues and the sneaking

But Im loving this so much. Question about the character unlocks if I unlock ANya, Cole, etc. in the beta does that mean I start off with having her in the retail? Basically do all of the unlocks in the beta carry over to the retail?

Here are the only unlocks that carry over from beta to retail:

Beta Tester Medal - Complete one match in the beta to unlock the Beta Tester medal, which will carry over to your gamer profile in the final game. The Beta Tester title will be featured in the "Gears 3" multiplayer lobby as well.
Thrashball Cole - Complete 50 matches in any game type to unlock the Thrashball Cole character variant in the beta. Once unlocked, complete 10 matches as Thrashball Cole during the beta and the character will carry over to your gamer profile in the final game.
Gold-Plated Retro Lancer - Show your ultimate "Gears of War" fandom by unlocking the Gold-Plated Retro Lancer. Complete 90 matches in any game type to unlock it for the beta, and score 100 kills with it once unlocked to carry the exclusive weapon skin over to your gamer profile in the final game.
Flaming Hammerburst - Complete one match by Sunday, April 24 and unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Lancer - Complete one match during the week of April 25 and unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Sawed-Off Shotgun - Complete one match during the week of May 2 to unlock this weapon variant.
Flaming Gnasher Shotgun - Complete one match during the week of May 9 to unlock this weapon variant.

The retro is the only one that should take any time & if you use the retro in your starting loadout it shouldn't be a problem.

Its all about team work. If you are playing well as a team, it should be extremely difficult for enemies to sneak up on you. Like if you are watching a particular path way, there should be no reason for ur teammates to be looking in the same direction. Iv had that happen to me a few times and i asked the dude on my team what the hell he was doing, he should of been covering my blind spot.

I don't know about you guys, but i am chomping for the full game. Multiplayer is fun and all, but it's the new game mechanics i'm so into. I can't wait to bayonet charge a locust in campaign, mantle kick another then slice him and dice him. It will make the combat in campaign and horde mode feel so fluid and varied.

Oh yes!

This is going to be my core game around which other games revolve for probably the next 2 years (at least). The MP looks much more enjoyable but as you say all these applications are going to be even better in campaign, Horde & Beast! If they make some of the big upgrades to Horde that have been suggested, it is going to be out of this world with the current game engine!

Agreed. The campaign is gonna have 4 player co-op right?
 
Yes it will be 4 player co-op and I believe its split into 2 different stories kind of. Half the campaign you are with Marcus, Dom and 2 other people and the other half is Cole, Baird and 2 other people. Their stories will cross each other and eventually come together at the end.
 
Yeah, & this isn't 4 player faceless co-op. It looks like it makes a difference (& you see things from a different perspective) depending on which individual character you are playing as at the time so there should be a lot of replay value.

From the end of the beta till september is going to be such a long wait! I guess I'm going to have to find something productive to do until then...

Oh neat, so you arent controlling Marcus and Dom the whole time like u were in 1 and 2?
 
From what I've read no, the story will be switching between the 2 groups and as the story goes the groups paths will intertwine with each other and then they'll all come together at the end.

press the guide button and then go all the way to the left and select redeem code and then enter the code in there
