Sci-Fi Gears of War: The movie (In the works!)

I'd say like anything time moves on as does style and editing options, Predator's "The jungle came alive" stuff was very stylish as were all the shots in the final battle with Dutch and the Predator

It did have a great atmosphere and built it's tension as well as any movie ever has IMO.

Which is something anyone who directed GEARS OF WAR most likely could not do.

Some of these video game movies like DOOM certainly try to be like the evolution of PREDATOR, but they fail on every level.

Or ALIENS for that matter.

Bruce Willis is too old to play Marcus. I think Gerard Butler would be great in the role. Ving Rhames would make a great Cole. Jay Hernandez would make a good Dom if he bulked up a bit.

This is the one casting call I'd get behind 100% from the get-go. The moment I heard about this production, this guy's face popped in my head. Nobody better for the Cole Train.

Yeah well, that's true. Although, I'd be willing to label the first Mortal Kombat an exception to the norm.

The only exception to me is Advent Children which is really a non-exception because it was never even released theatrically, and it's . . . well it's not that good. But it's got our favorite FF characters looking as they should and kicking ass. So that was cool. Hollywood would never do it.

Predator was structured like a slasher movie with Dutch's team not knowing what was hunting them, Gears of War is a war game with the enemy known and it's all out action from the start with the paper thin story linking set piece to set piece.

I'm gonna go with Tyrese Gibson for that one, and Dennis Quiad would be cool to see as Marcus, even though he's too old.

That's all well and good, but it's never going to happen.

You all talk about these movies like they will be great cinematic achievements, but they never are.

I bet Hitman will be a critically maligned bomb as well.

There's not reason why they can't be and yes they usually are...still no reason not to hope for the best.
