My thoughts exactly.

I don't think anything could let me down with this movie more if Vader doesn't mess some people up.

There is a rumoured scene in the rain where he is laying waste to a bunch of rebel soldiers. Has anyone read Twilight Company?

Yup. I loved the way the writer handled Hoth.

Anyone brought up the possibility that the new poster is hinting at a huge character twist?

That Jyn Erso is a possibly a droid. The side of her face blending into the face of the Death Star. A droid created by her father as a counterpoint to the Death Star. He knew he would be forced to build a Manhattan Project like monstrosity for the Empire, so he in secret created a weapon to fight it. A droid that would bring hope and help to destroy his dark creation.

Either that or it's just the thematic beat that his natural creation in a daughter helps to destroy his evil technological creation. Furthering the ongoing theme throughout the Star Wars trilogy that nature and the force are far more powerful than technology.

there being two younger versions of Jyn kinda disproves that theory already.

I am almost certain Vader will have some form of action and not just merely talking. I mean, the Rogue One squad has to find their demise in some way, right? Even if most of them are killed by Krennic, at least 1 or 2 has to be from Vader's hand/saber.

My bets are on Saw and Galen (as I think that shot in the trailer where Galen is forced to kneel is actually in front of Vader).

I think that is Galen kneeling in front of Vader in the tank. I also think Galen's look will deteriorate as the movie goes on. There's a reason we've only scene him in flashbacks.

Love the "print" effect on their faces!

Agreed those 2 quick shots/scenes really stuck out to me. Krennic being very arrogant and loud in his words with Vader about how the Death Star's power they're dealing with is "immeasurable" is wonderful. Those 2 quick scenes we see feel great to me.

Also the flashback scene of Mads talking to young Jyn. Something about that scene really gets me in the feels.
I'm excited to see Mads outside of a Hollywood villain role, since he gets typecast quite a bit. Just the timbre of his voice is so emotional, and I feel like he'll really bring it as Jyn's father (not that Mads doesn't bring it in his other roles). I'm excited to see him face off against Vader and Krennic, and hopefully stand up to them.

New episode of Full of Sith has Anthony Breznican and he gives more details about what he learned from the crew of Rogue One about why the reshoots aren't a bad thing compared to Suicide Squad, which he brought up given he was a fan and defender of BvS, and why it matters for the movie's ending as he learned from Gareth Edwards: https://itunes.apple.com/us/podcast...news-discussions/id591644330?mt=2&i=376738791

If anyone wants to give me any thoughts, anyone like Solidus, after they hear the episode, just type away.

P.S. He talks about the reshoots in the last 18.5 minutes of the episode.

Really he does not spell out much new. And he says pretty much what Darth and I and a few others have been saying all along. The first thing Anthony spits out is that the characters were flat. And emotionless. And really that does not surprise me it seems to be something Edwards struggles with and it shows in Godzilla.

As for the ending that's too vague to really see what he's talking about. But like I said and Darth said we were betting it was the characters. And I have a further theory going on now.

We know there was a Rogue One prequel comic line in the work that was canceled. Later it was said it was canceled because of this. I truly wonder if the prequel comic went into some of the backstory of Jyn/Krennic/Galen a little more. I wonder if they actually fleshed out the characters using the prequel comic ideas and therefore canceled it and just making it part of the movie.

It sounds like there was almost no characterization or background and the reshoots seem to be focused more around that. Let's hope it works out.

This makes a lot of sense really. I think there is also a real chance what was added to the film contradicted the comic, so they just did away with it.

That's another possiblity. I think they may have used some of the ideas in the comic to flesh out the character stories and changed others so just scrapped the entire thing.
