Ghost Rider bumped to Feb of 2007 (Release Date Thread)

So, I'v had a bit of time to digest this news. I'm still in a state of shock about the whole thing. I'm not sure what to think anymore.

My heart and mind is completly trusting the reason for the move and understanding that it would be for the best to do so but... there is this nagging feeling that there is something bad happening. It's true that usually when a movie gets bumped it's because the studio doesn't have faith. Let's face it, the past have shown us such things happening for exactly that reason. I hope that's not the case for GR.

What I keep forcing myself to believe and hold on to is that Sony is so in love with the flick that they don't want to waste it in a mess of movies that are coming out next year. Also, they may be thinking that it would be a lot of great added promotion for the Spidey flick.

Now of course my mind is wandering again (pretty much into lala land though) and am thinking about the possibilites of seeing Ghost Rider and Spidey together on film.

Wow. That would be neato.

Likely to happen, no. Awesome if it did, yes.

So... where was I? Oh yes, the real reason behind Ghost Rider's move... not that I think the reason Mark gave us wasn't the truth but, ya always gotta wonder about these things... and what's really ****ty is that we have a year to think about it... more than even.

I reckon that if things weren't going well, MSJ would at least say there'd been 'challenges' or something protectively tactful yet honest. If he says Sony love what they've seen, I believe him.

Someone once said the best things are worth waiting for. I'm sure it'll be true here.

Eh what is another 7 months really. I would rather see this movie be good and own the first couple of weekends it is out before it grosses 150 million domestic (hopes).

How bad could it be? If **** films like X2 can clean up then MSJ can clean up too!!

This Was going to come out right on my birthday! I was very excited about that, considering GR is one of my favorite heroes. Anyone know if more is going to be filmed for the movie since this is a very long delay? Also, will the movie be R like the Punisher was?

don't hang around the ghost rider boards much, but i feel strongly about this so i though i would post, are the people at sony *****ED in the head? honestly, lets look here, taking a high profile Marvel movie, with a Hollywood A list actor, Sony's first marvel property since spider-man... and they're handling it like this? bumping it too Feb 2007?? Even if the movie sucked hard, it would still make more money in the summer garenteed, if they stuck to the original release date which for a long time already seemed like it was far away, more than enough time for them to get their **** together.... never the less if they had stuck to the original summer release the movie not matter what would have opened 40mil+, with this feb release they will be god damn lucky to crack above 24mil... if i know this then what in the hell are the people at Sony getting paid for? Don't give me any of that DD good luck BS, or that Sony has to many movies already.... about that

I dont think think its fair i have been waiting for this movie since beginning of this year ! I think that we should get signatures asking SONY that keep the initial release date which was July 14 2006.

We all know how you feel, I've been waiting for this flick since '91. But, we won't see it 'till it's done. It'll be worth the wait.

The movie would have gotten killed in july, that being said it's going to get killed in feb. Like Daredevil, it's going to be some music video laugh fest that me and my family laugh at when it comes on FX. Sorry MSJ, but when a studio moves a 120mil dollar 2006 summer movie to the first part of 2007...that means that they don't have an once of faith in it. I predict it will open decently and drop hard...like Daredevil.

Well I don't know about you but when I see a movie that looks laughable and it isn't a comedy I won't even check it out on dvd but hey go ahead have a ball. I love superhero movies too but when they look like crap I won't see them. It just puzzles me when people on here blast a film and still go and see it.

It may have something to do with it or at least be part of the issue. The game will probably not come out next summer now but instead in the fall, getting ready for Christmas. That was probably taken into consideration when making the decision.

One has the opportunity in life to make suggestions or predict what may happen in the future but nearly nobody knows exactly what'll happen.

Or you could've at least admitted you were way off with that silly prediction. And how Fox obviously wouldn't have switched a key BO weekend for a movie from a competitor in Sony.

VileOne, it wasn't a prediction so much as hope. I really want to see the movie, that's all and I'm now predicting that it's going to switch spots with Underworld: Evolution which is supposed to come out in a couple of weeks. That can happen right; they're owned by the same studio.

Also, how could you not have heard such news? It's crippled the fans of Ghost Rider and... well, is the title of this thread.

Anyway, here's to Jan 20th and the release of Ghost Rider! Yay!!!!

That'd be nice, I agree, but I'm sure if they did, we'd see Nic Cage less in flames and more in green headgear. Besides, I can't wait for Evolution almost as much as I can't wait for X3. All will end well, no worries.
