Ghost Rider bumped to Feb of 2007 (Release Date Thread)

We've all waited this long, I guess I'll just have to wait awhile more, thanks MSJ for keeping us up to date. If it feels like a kick in the guts to us imagine what it must feel like for MSJ. The road is long but there isa light at the end of the tunnel...or is that a train, i'll lay here and find out, never was one for heights

Man this sucks. I just recently got into ghostrider after reading some comics and researching the character. 2007 is a long time.

Well this is the worst news I've heard in awhile, hopefully we will get some make up pics out of this ;)

Atleast it's released around my b-day (18th)

cause Marvel & Sony are stupid!

Not really, they're bound to have two hits with Ghost Rider AND Spider-Man 3 coming out in 2007 if I'm not mistaken.

I've been waiting about 15 years for this flick, so another seven months isn't the end of the world. I'm really hoping this had nothing to do with the quality of the movie and was only because of the crowded summer movie season. After all, MSJ said Sony and Cage both loved the flick, so that's good news. Plus I'd rather see it later than have it get lost in a sea of cookie cutter blockbusters. I'd even rather have it in March or April. January and February are like the graveyard months for movies. Let's hope GR changes all that.

ps. I was reading an interview with someone recently (I don't remeber who) that had worked with MSJ and he said that besides Mark Ruffalo, MSJ was the nicest man in showbusiness. After how awesome he's been on the boards today, I'll have to agree.

I don't see how anybody can blame months of the year for bad movies. January and February are as good of months for movies as the other 10. I mean look at next month, Underworld: Evolution is coming, and that's definately gonna be a hit, and it's from Sony as well. They know what they're doin'. Face it, a ****ty movie is a ****ty movie, doesn't matter when it comes out, and Hollywood is pretty good at dishin' out ****ty movies year long. Have a little faith.

I am starting to get used to delay. I just gotta look at the positives. Better chance of quality and better chance of a bigger box office. There is more time to make things even better than planned so let us hope that is how it works out. I hope though that this release date STAYS this time...lol. I am getting kinda of tired of it getting switched around so much.

It's easier to make a big noise when things are quiet. Roll on (sigh) Feb 2007.

:(

I'm getting a bad vibe that this movie will be bad as it was scheduled for "prime time" summer blockbuster released date, and now it has been pushed over to a February 2007!?!
Sony should have released this film for Halloween 2006 as many posters here have written since it would have been a perfect release date for this character.

Yeah. Halloween would definitely have been perfect for the character.

:ghost:

I agree. I think October would be a great time to release it.

Still....if you gonna move the release date....Why not in October? Maybe to capitalized on the Halloween crowds? That way you can sell Ghost rider masks at the same time....make it like a halloween event?

I agree with this too. Unless the film absolutely has to be delayed until 2007 for production reasons, they should release it around Halloween 2006.

As long as it comes out I'm happy. Sounds like a lot of work is being put into GR's look, so if they need that extra few month's to pull it off then so be it. I want there to sequel's so take your time.

have u guys seen this pic???

It's too bad Sony doesn't believe in slapping together a comic book movie in a month ala Roger Corman style like Fox otherwise Ghostrider 2 would have been out already.

I feel for Mark, at first I was so happy to see it moved up, I hate an August release date, it just never seems to work out for the movies that I want it to work out for. It is just so..end of Summer and it's like so hot and all the fireworks have gone off and all the tent poles have gone up and have already run thier course, and no one is really thinking about movies.

Even though it isn't a fantastic time I always thought it would be best to roll this one out in October go for a hollween kinda feel, but this is not to be either I suppose

Summer of 06 is jammed up, and Mark is right that Ghost Rider may have gottne lost in all that calamity.

it didn't seem like a summer movie anyway. but moving all the way to 2007 is surprising.

At first I was a bit upset that it was bumped to 07,but who knows it could be for the better. And make it kick ass.

If you kill yourself...you'll never see GR.
