Nothing is set in stone, as MSJ said himself.

All I'm sayin' is that I'd like to see it before August as that's too long a wait for me. Sheesh, the additude with this one...

If you've waited years and years for it, you can wait 12 months or so .

All I'm saying is they aren't going to release it before August and that Sony is not so STUPID that they'd release it in early July right between Superman and Pirates 2.

Don't worry about Vile, Flamehead. He seems to have some personal problem with MSJ or something else no matter what he says. I have accepted the August 4th release date...and I am hoping for a Halloween dvd release .

Halloween is unlikely. It takes at least 3-4 months for the dvd release... unless of course the movie is released earlier than Aug... which I will continue to hope for until that date comes.

If the dvd came out on Halloween it would be about the same amount of time that Fox had with Elektra's dvd. But I don't know if Sony is going to pull the "Theatrical Edition first, Special Edition" later deal that Fox usually does.

That's more than likely what will happen, 2 different releases. As much as I hate it when they do that, that's what it'll be. I think the reason why Elektra came out so quickley is because it did so bad in theatres and they wanted to see if they could make up some money on DVD. They probably thought what happened with Punisher would happen with them... but I guess they didn't realize nothing could make that movie money.

Well it won't happen anyway. Dvds are mostly released on Tuesdays and the closest is November 1st. I think they will probably do a holiday release date for the dvd.

Um... I was just reading an article on the Montly Fool website and it states that Ghost Rider is coming out on July 8th.

I don't like the August date personaly I would rather see it come out mid April, far enough away from X Men and as Sin City and Hell Boy prived a god time for fringe comic book movies.

I'd have to say "Negative" to that one.

It would be a dumb move IMO...but it could happen. I mean come on...Punisher was actually released on the same day as Kill Bill 2. Some just get cocky and try to take on other movies.

early July would be great....but wont happen unless Pirates moves from its July 7th date. im sure Sony wants to make sure that there isnt any heavy competition w/ GR when it is released and July is pretty much packed as it is.

Aye, it certainly is. The only other spot I can really see this movie going is at the beginning of June. That would give it 3 full weeks before Supes is released... but I guess they wouldn't want to release it that close to X-Men either... although, Marvel may have no choice in the matter when it comes to that. They are two different studios after all.

Well last I heard the Superman budget was pushing 250 million. So who knows what kind of marketing that movie is getting.
