Im seeing all these remakes and comebacks from 80's Icons and I dont see any plans on making a Ghostbusters flick. What the Hell? Is any one else as baffled as I am on why there are no plans for a future GB movie? Yeah I know about the video game, woopdy doo. But dammit man this is freaking Crazy!!! If Indiana Jones, Rambo,Freddy Krueger, Rocky, Transformers, and a freaking PG rated Beverly Hills Cop Movie making comebacks, why not Ghostbusters? I bet mostly everyone in this forum would love a GB flick.

Is Bill Murray done reading the script yet? I would of finished in a day lol.

Probably, he's probably just holding out on us and every one else.

We'll hear something soon if they really want to aim for a that early winter 2012 distribution date that Aykroyd has dropped a few times.

PG rated Beverly Hills Cop?! WTF???!!!!:cmad:

Ya I can't wait to see what bill thinks of current draft of the script. So we can finally get things moving.

Sorry I don't have links, but read last night there was an interview ivan did with digital spy talking about script and the possibly of maybe aston kutcher might be interested in the film. Also was just reading murray was on howard stern today saying he has the script but still hasn't read it yet. I do hope he reads it soon and likes it.

Web I read the same thing. I think it was on comicbookmovie.
The Aston Kutcher thing was really just thrown in there because Kutcher was sitting next to Reitman in the interview.

Bill Murray was on Howard Stern this morning. The topic of another Ghostbusters came up and he pretty much confirmed that he's holding it up. Said he owes everyone a response on the script, but hasn't read it yet. He really didn't sound too enthused.

He also sounded pretty disappointed and ticked off how Ghostbusters 2 turned out. He implied it didn't turn out the way they originally discussed it (nothing specific).

Get Wes Anderson to direct the film.

That should get Bill Murray's ass in gear.

I'd love this to happen, but without Murray i really doubt it ever will and i doubt Murrays going to do this.

Real shame.

I just read the transcript. I understand him being cautious but this seems to imply the scripts haven't been good. The guy is at the point where he doesn't even want to open a new one . Bill Murray might be doing us a favor by preventing a bad Ghostbusters from happening....

Chris Rock and Chris Farley would of made good Ghostbusters though.

Sounds like Murray is just winging it. He's gonna get to the script though (if he hadn't that day he talked to Howard Stern), for the sake of everyone else involved in the film.

If he likes it, and signs on, could be good news. If he doesn't... who knows where the film will end up going.

If he doesn't like it the project is dead...end of story.

If he likes it? At this point we don't even know if he'll ever even be motivated enough to read it, let alone develop an opinion. :csad:

If he likes it, the cameras may start rolling late this year.

During the interview with Stern, it didn't even sound like he wanted to read the script. Sounded like he'd get around to it, but mainly as a courtesy. He didn't sound like a guy ready to jump into the Ghostbusters again.

Sure I know issues bill had with the second film. But I thought he did get over it after all these yrs. Along with doing the video game and all that. Hopefully he reads the script and likes it. So things are good to go. Or for his shack maybe just release his share on property and be done with it.

I don't know that he has a problem with Ghostbusters itself... I think the man's just aged quite a bit and has changed pretty drastically as a performer... and he knows it. He doesn't have the charisma that carried his earlier roles, and it's quite possible that he just doesn't think he could really bring back that character - and, as such, he has no interest in trying.

I played the GB game, as though I loved it... the Venkman character sounded more like someone trying to impersonate Bill Murray than the Bill Murray I remembered from the films.

The man still cranks out pretty amazing performances when he does still appear on screen - but they're drastically different in style and approach than the ones that made us all laugh so much in the 80s and 90s. I just don't think he has the gas in the tank to go back to that.

Well I reckon he doesnt want to make a 3rd film just to do it. He probably wants it to be as good as the first one and/or be better than the 2nd film. I actually liked Ghostbusters 2. I still like it.

Yeah, I like Ghostbusters 2 a lot as well.

Though at this point, I'm kind of hoping this project doesn't get off the ground.

I really really want GB3 to happen. But only if its good.

But I was talking to my friend the other day, and we both agreed that the special effects NEED to be the same as they were in the first 2. As far as the proton streams, or trap effects and stuff. I'm not saying they need to have those matte painting backgrounds or puppet ghosts, but 80's FX would be super awesome for this movie.
