Ghostbusters 3 - Part 4

My reading: Wigg is the Venkman, McCarthy the Stantz. Jones the Zeddemore (sadly, obvious) and McKinnon the Spengler.

We'll see how it shakes out

I think Wiig will be the Stantz: " a published author on the subject of the paranormal and professor at Columbia University".

Honestly, if you've read the IDW series, this feels pretty in tune with the look.

Looking good.

Its looking good but at the same time I need to see a trailer soon cause this is really just giving me "cosplay" and not exactly "we're here to save yall from the paranormal"

Any person other than Murray, Ayrkoyd, Hudson or Ramis, will look "cosplay".
The blonde girl is pulling it off quite nicely.

The stripes make the suits look ultra wide, and weirdly separated.

Me too!!
It actually FEELS like Ghostbusters based on that picture.

EXACTLY.

My thing is this: I'm a fan of the concept of "Ghostbusters," above anything else. If the first film had been them as garbage workers, I wouldn't really have cared. I was a kid when I got into GB, and the humor of the film flew right over my head. So ultimately, I have to remember that they are comedies.

So, out of love for the concept of technological ghost catching/fighting, I also loved Extreme Ghostbusters, even though none of the main four were the movie GBs.

Was I upset at first that it was a reboot? Yeah. Even with a whole new team, I liked the legacy aspect. But provided McKinnon (et.al) are all their own interesting, likable characters with good chemistry, just like Venkman and co., I'm in. **ck it.

As long as they're running around with Proton Packs and Traps, it's ****ing Ghostbusters to me. That's all there is to it.

I would be alright with this picture if it weren't for those damn stripes. At the very least take them off the boots. I am not a fan of any of these women, especially Leslie Jones and Kate McKinnon. However, I'm most impressed with McKinnon here. One look at her almost saves the rest of the cast in this photo. I really hope she is not playing another of her grating SNL caricatures here.

I don't get complaining about the stripes. The ghostbusters have never been about fashion...

I hope after Sony loses the Bond distribution rights. They go bankrupt. Forcing them to completely give Spider-Man to MARVEL & no more Ghostbusters from Sony & any other beloved franchise they might ruin in the future

The Ecto 1-A from GBII also had a lot of horrible stripes.

Or you could just not watch them.

The stripes are growing on me. They give the suits that very "working man/woman" vibe. Like, as others said..garbage workers. Which is how it should be.

Love the car. Love the packs.
Suits look ok. The boot stripes are fugly though
Like McCarthy and Wiig. Don't know the other two. Curious about McCarthy and the blondes characters the most.

I can dig it, I just wish with the talent involved they could have built upon what came before instead of starting from scratch. This will almost certainly be better than Ghostbusters 2. Would have been cool to see the originals hand over the torch. Alas. :(

As I mentioned earlier, it could've worked if they made them their daughters...

Sold! Sold... sold... sold!

Why are they doing this to me. These past couple of weeks have been one tease after another and now they pull this? We still have a bit more than a year to go and the wait's going to be pretty tough.

Sucks that Mattel didn't mention any news about the upcoming products for the film at their panel.

It could've, but I'm happy they went this way. I'm a fan of origin stories, for one, and I understand what Feig was saying about approaching a story where ghosts and ghost busting have been around for 30 years. It's a different story from one in which we encounter ghost and ghost busting for the first time in our current context.

I guess they could do a GB2 approach, but as I grew older I continued to question why a city attacked by a giant marshmallow man would suddenly stop believing in ghosts. It's been so long since the first, the story needs to be reintroduced to the younger audiences. We don't need the introduction, but they will.

Making these women the daughters of the original four Ghostbusters would've been the stupidest and most cliche way of connecting things. So I am glad they aren't doing that.

The blonde girl tho.

*Takes off sun glasses and spits on hand palms n combs hair back.*

Well, hello.

I think the "fashion" thing is the joke. They're color-coordinating the always-unimpressive "jumpsuit and boots" look.

The blonde pulls it off nicely. The rest don't look convincing.

I don't have any real problems with what I am seeing here at first glance. It seems like Ghostbusters to me on the surface at least. You can nitpick about the look of Ecto-1 or the outfits but they still look Ghostbuster-ish, they still fit the tone.

Are we STILL complaining about the all female cast? Really? Why does Ghostbusters have to be male centric? It's not like the original guys were beefcake action heroes who were the bastion of masculinity. They were three nerds and one blue color guy who just wanted a job. They got winded walking up a flight of stairs and still managed to save New York. Is there a reason four women couldn't do the same thing just as well? Or be just as funny and entertaining doing it?
