I've seen enough reviews for this knocking it for 'nostalgia' and 'fan-baiting' that I'm A) knowing I'm gonna love it so much because it's pandering to me, lol, but B) kinda depressed that it's getting such reviews leading me to doom and gloom about where the general consensus on this film will be. It's just a movie, I know, but it still kinda brings me down a bit.

Edit: And the latest review (CNet) I read that docked it points for all the nostalgia that prompted me type this message in the first place actually gave it a fresh rating on RT, lol.

To be quite honest about that, I've never seen the 2016 movie and I have no desire to ever see the 2016 movie, but I wish people would just leave it alone. Kind of my way of saying it's not my cup of tea, but I have no desire to see it bashed either. Not that I can stop said bashing. So I can't really comment on that aspect of the reviews.

We're now in the stretch of the marketing campaign where I'm avoiding everything I can, I'm really paranoid that they're gonna spoil big moments. It's always the final marketing push that gets ya.

I do have my tickets purchased though. Doing Alamo Drafthouse for this one, after my buddy and I marathon 1 & 2 beforehand. Can't wait!!

Why Sony couldn’t wait till Monday after opening weekend with this trailer is beyond me. Are there really people sitting on the fence to see this until this new trailer convinces them by spoiling that moment for the first time?

holy crap the purple ghost in that last trailer with the big eye is same as one of the real ghostbusters toys they had a purple ghost when you smacked the back of it a giant eye would pop out on a rope and you just popped it back into the socket nice callback.
