Been a long time since I played it. It's frustratingly hard and the inability to pause is a huge inconvenience. Not using the Proton Packs is a pretty big disappointment, too.

Im gonna get chewed out for this but I recently saw Ghostbusters 1 for the first time and I really wasnt that impressed. I went into the movie thinking, "ok, im ready for a fun, cheesy, corny music-laden 80s flick". And I'm someone who loves LOVES corny/ fun 80s movies. But when watching it I found the movie to be surprisingly really slow and boring at times and it wasnt until the final act where the film really picked up and became fun, cheesy Ghostbusters movie i was expecting Needless to say I felt disappointed. I dunno, maybe I need to give it a another shot?

Yes, you do. It's about ghost exterminators but the dialogue during the times they aren't busting ghosts is classic and insanely witty.

I guess I just had this preconceived notion about what the movie was gonna be like, you know, always having known about Ghostbusters but never seen the film, and then the film didn't turn play out like I thought it would so maybe it just threw me off. I shall give it another try!

You don't love Ghostbusters in the way you love more modern movies. You love Ghostbusters for the characters first and foremost - these are guys you really do cheer on. Forget all the effort in today's movies to make Peter Parker or Clark Kent identifiable - give me Peter Venkman or Ray Stanz anyday. They don't have complex motivations; they are just normal guys who come up with an idea, and end up saving New York and becoming heroes.

Secondly, the concept is awesome and allows for some genuinely scary sequences (along with fantastic special effects). The genius of Ghostbusters is that it's a comedy that can become full-on horror when need be. The sequence of the ghosts taking over New York is truly nightmarish.

Third, the music. The movie makes you laugh, makes you scared, and then hits you you the funkiest theme tune of all-time.

^ I agree. I have a very strong fondness in my heart for 80's special effects (stop motion, animatronics) I love that stuff. And when it got going Ghostbusters had some really great effects. And yes, the music was awesome, it was something I wanted more of throughout the movie.

Definitely give the movie another shot and I'd suggest seeing GB2 as well.

As a kid I saw Ghostbusters II on TV a few times without ever realizing it was the second movie, I really enjoyed it and was excited to find out there was another and that this whole time I was watching the sequel. It kinda worked out for me since I did end up loving the first film more than the second, none the less I still really liked part II. It's been far too long since I've seen either of them though.

Man I always loved the Ecto in GB2! I imagine it would flip over at a moments notice with all that gear on top... but It wouldn't stop me from hauling in that thing.

I believe the car is actually here in Arizona, in Tucson. Or was anyway, it's been a long time... I used to look up the car online and scheme for ways to get the cash to buy it.

I love the Ecto-1A and far prefer it to the Ecto-1. I know some fans dislike the additional stuff on it but I think it looks awesome.

Real Ghostbusters Slimed Heroes


I remember those figures, I recall they came out either around the time of GB2's release or shortly after. I had the Ray, so many hours of fun that brought me sliming him all over. I sadly lost the figure.

I forgot to mention before, but I always really liked GB2's version of the no ghost logo. The original is a classic but I always liked GB2's version as well. I still want to get a T-shirt that has the GB2 logo.

The charcoal coveralls were awesome. Wished we'd seen them more throughout the movie and kinda wish they'd worn them during the climax.

I actually had the same feeling about the logo and that it didn´t make any sense, until someone at gbfans.com pointed out to me there was a logic behind it. The new GB logo puts the emphasis on the twice part.

I always figured the new logo was probably used to also show victory over the ghosts.

Ah, ok, I didn't know that. That certainly brings context to the logo. That said I can really only go on what was presented in the film, so in that sense it still looks like the logo is self referencing the fact it's a sequel.

I always thought it would've been cool to have seen a suit that featured both logos on the arm areas (the original on one side and the GB2 version on the other). Wouldn't be surprised if some fans have made suits like that.

I've always thought any new Ghostbuster film should go back to the original logo concept, maybe a modernized version of it.
