On the movie side, Common said he was being offered the part of Road Block in the G.I. Joe movie, but nothing has been solidified yet. His role in the Justice League of America film as Green Lantern is on hold as of now while studio executives decide when to start production, but in April we'll see Com as the notorious Coates in "Street Kings."

Read this on another site. It's a strange rumour to say the least.

Why would they have both Heavy Duty and Road Block when they are essentially the same character and why on earth go with Common as the actor when Terry Crews is the perfect Road Block?

His character wasn't mentioned in the first script reviews but they say Hama has since done some script doctoring.

Maybe we'll see a few cameos with fan favorite Joes. :hyper:

Hope so, that will make it worth watching several times to take it all in. :woot:

Larry Hama is writing in some fan favorites?

G.I. Joe 3 Rumors:

According to Film Divider, "Matt Trakker will be stepping up onto the big screen. he was the lead character of MASK, or Mobile Armoured Strike Kommand, a Kenner toy line and cartoon from the ‘80s. ... Trakker joining GI Joe suggests that MASK will be introduced either in this film, set up for a sequel, or possibly be established for their own spin-off. It’s easy to see why Hasbro and Paramount would like this idea."

As the site reminds us, there is a precedent for a G.I. Joe-M.A.S.K. crossover after the Trakker character was reintroduced as a Joe mission specialist following Hasbro's purchase of Kenner. If you don't recall, M.A.S.K. ran from 1985-86 and was essentially a hybrid of two other wildly popular 1980s toy-cartoon franchises, G.I. Joe and Transformers, with a special task forces who used transforming vehicles to fight the evil organization V.E.N.O.M.

But that's not all, Joe fans. Film Divider also claims the main villains of G.I. Joe 3 will be Tomax and Xamot, the identical twin terrorists (well, Xamot had a scar on his cheek) who also served as Cobra's Crimson Guard Commanders. In the Renegades continuity, Tomax and Xamot also had psychic powers.

It was recently reported that Disturbia and Eagle Eye director D.J. Caruso was in the running to helm G.I. Joe 3, which is expected to open in 2016.

Interesting if true, it could work with the right approach and make the movies better. Caruso is a better director than Jon Chu, so it's a step in the right direction.
