I knew you two would find something to bond over eventually. Twas only a matter of time.

I told you watching the Detour and that awful Jurassic World sequel would pay off.Yes. For anything.
Bonding with Snow over attractive women is easier then bonding with @Spider-Fan over his dislike of the Steelers.I knew you two would find something bond over eventually. Twas only a matter of time.

She was definitely a prominent character that had a purpose in the show, it's just really hard to care about said character when Carano brought absolutely nothing to the table other than looking tough. Which of course, could have been easily overlooked had Carano not been volatile as all hell on social media but I know I'm preaching to the choir on that one.I know I may watch the Mando a bit too much, but Cara isn't a nothing character. She's arguably the third most prominent character on the show so far, behind only the Mando and the Child. She's been in 7 episodes, both season finales, and has a connection with both Din and the Child. They were pretty clearly building up that Din/Cara ship. Din turns to her when he needs help. They also connected her directly to Alderaan and the New Republic.
I was never crazy about the character and I am very happy she is gone, but I do think there is a level of ignoring her prominence on the show here.
I look forward to the breadtube breakdowns of this "interview".
Yes... the bullying... right.

Projection is a hell of a drug.Being fired for being a PR nightmare that is causing negative publicity for one of your employer's most popular shows and persisting after multiple chances and warnings is not being "bullied".
For priding themselves on supposedly being the tough guys/girls fighting back against the liberal snowflakes, right-wingers sure like to whine and play victim.
Haha. I wanted the Dune character written out, but one possible plus side of having her in would be if the character became massive if played by someone better and the show spawned a huge future that Carano could be missing out on, while being comforted by Proud Boys.Disney bullying Carano: "Please stop tweeting offensive things! We want to give you your own show!"
Any chance that this interview will cause Disney to reverse their decision and recast the role?
Doubtful but you never know. My guess is Disney never brings Gina up again or does anything with Cara Dune the character. Its smarter to avoid this situation altogether.Any chance that this interview will cause Disney to reverse their decision and recast the role?
More to the point that social media is *not* the arena to have these kind of conversations in the first place, because even if your intents are geniune, its taking place in an emotional bubble that oftentimes lacks common sense, logic, or reason.Or you could just not post such volatile BS altogether. Just a suggestion.

It's interesting that you think Carano either understood the media trainer or is telling the truth. To me, one of the more interesting takeaways from that interview was her comment about the media trainer that came over to her house, my guess is to whip her into social media shape. The media trainer said Gina's problem was she offered a logical answer to their emotional response and they don't want logic, they want emotion (or something along those lines). The idea of a media trainer telling her to respond to emotion with emotion is social media in a nutshell, and I guess Gina didn't understand that. Arguments on social media aren't logical. People on social media aren't there for logic, to paraphrase Chris Rock, they're there for distance and irritation.
Plenty of adults do it all the time. They usually don't start with bigotry.More to the point that social media is *not* the arena to have these kind of conversations in the first place, because even if your intents are geniune, its taking place in an emotional bubble that oftentimes lacks common sense, logic, or reason.
Social media isn't real life, its full of racists and trolls and rarely reflects real life conversations. Most of the folks wouldn't speak the way they do if there were a high likelihood they could meet up with those individuals face to face.Plenty of adults do it all the time. I don't see a reason for her to lie. Plus the story makes sense and it fits with the character she has displayed for her entire career. But believe what you will. It's interesting that you think Carano either understood the media trainer or is telling the truth.
You do realize you just made the argument for why social media is the way to talk to other people right? Because they actually show up, mask off, and thus aren't lying about who they are?Social media isn't real life, its full of racists and trolls and rarely reflects real life conversations.
