As ****ing **** as it is, I've seen Godzilla vs Megalon at least 12 times. Hell, my least favorite Heisei film is Godzilla and Mothra: The Battle for Earth and even I could watch it right now if I wanted to. :woot:

Wuuuut? Battle For Earth is the bomb-uh! Top 5 most underrated G-Flicks imo. Typically great Heisei effects, even pacing, great action, human characters not totally annoying/boring, and and oddly beautiful scene of Mothra cocooning herself. I'd rank Battle for Earth over the original Mothra Vs. Godzilla. Yup, I said it.

Nope, I mean I just feel....nothing after watching it. There's nothing wrong with it, but I just feel nothing. :D

Pretty boring movie.

I mean, it's average. It's got beautiful visuals with Ford jumping down from the airplane, you got stunning cities and destruction, but when you have a movie that's suppose to be about Godzilla and you only get 1 mediocore fight, you really just wish you had re-watched Pacific Rim instead.

The reason i am using Pacific Rim as an example is that it's from the same studio, how is that movie had so many memorable fights and this movie is just about the world of Godzilla, not about Godzilla himself? The Mutos are a bigger characters, heck, the monsters are the side characters in this hahaha.

I'm ecstatic that this movie is nothing like pacific rim. I like the less is more, build up approach. So much fighting was going on in pacific rim that it got to a point where I just didn't care anymore. I ended up just cutting it off and planning to back to it the next day but never did. Horrible movie.

Less is more is fine but by the sound of it I can understand some complaints (even though I haven't seen the film). Teasing is fine. Show glimpses of a fight. Or at least the aftermath. Don't build up twice and just leave to something else.

I don't recall anyone saying the movie was meant to only be about Godzilla. Much like the original, it sounds like it's focusing on the human element, which is a good thing. Sadly, I hear the human character's aren't written all that well. :funny: :csad:

When you have a movie named Godzilla and you promote the monster, i expect it to be about the monster. It's much more about the Mutos. Godzilal is a plot device to have the Mutos defeated.

Ford's character wasn't interesting.

Off to see this, back soon!

So much add in this world am I'm ignoring all the not enough godzilla criticism the godzilla series in general has always used godzilla sparingly to begin with including the original.

I'm so happy this movie is not a Pacific rim rip off

Too bad there isn't a IMAX only option, at least not one I'm aware of. I saw it in IMAX 3D and hardly noticed any 3D except for like the opening credits. Its a positive that it didn't detract from the picture quality itself.

All this talk about "wasted" human elements just has me thinking "sooo what!?". Do people really expect all of this films characters to be three dimensional people fit for the most sterling of drama's? All I care about is if the human story services the bigger picture and lays the groundwork without boring me to tears...which all I care about in a Godzilla movie.

I thought the point of a Godzilla film are the humans that populate it?
