Also what does Godzilla beating Kong accomplish anyways? Zilla already got a huge win by beating Ghidorah and having all the Titans bow to him, if on top of that you have him beat Kong then that's just overkill. Kong needs the win way more than Zilla.

Highly doubt this will be a major character in a film where there's already so many characters and a lot going on. He's probably going to be in about as much as those gangsters in Force Awakens.

I love this movie so much. My favourite movie so far of 2019. The filmmakers made Godzilla so great, even with facial expressions. Love it!

My take......

Godzilla 2014 was OK.
Kong: Skull Island was great.
Godzilla 2019 was OK.

I've been pretty disappointed with the Godzilla movies. Kong at least spent most of his time fighting in the day time with no rain or smoke. Godzilla movies are hiding the monster action for some reason. Come on movie makers....let us see him in action.

YES. My biggest pet peeves in this genre are nighttime/darkly-lit fights, and fast-cutting so you can't see the action. The former is why I wasn't as hot on Pacific Rim as many people here. This one was guilty of both. Let us see the action, please!

So this Honest Trailers mention the movie had characters who were dumb, and a boring plot. Now I get the characters being dumb, and I get why they did what they did, and I do agree with the criticisms despite not affecting me, but boring plot? How was this thing boring?

The plot felt like more exposition than plot. The pace of the movie makes it difficult.

Still love the movie, personally.

I never got the chance to write up review for this movie...but I am absolutely loved it!
I agree with the this is a love letter for all Kaiju fans around the world.
Even the directors of most Godzilla classic movies like Masaki Tezuka, Shushu Kaneko. Etc has praised it and they express their gratitude to Mike Dougherty for showing love and respect for Japanese monsters.

This movie is exactly what I wanted from a Kaiju film.
As one of many sub-genres in Tokusatsu genre, Godzilla is one of my favorite movies, and King of Monsters for me is definitely a top tier in my Gojira film ranking.

Ghidorah, Mothra, and Radon are all done right and what makes me happy is that hearing Akira Ifukube classic Gojira theme in this movie. (Clearly, Dougherty is proving that he is really a huge fan, and I thanked him for this.

Cannot wait for vs Kong.
and I surely hope there is another Hollywood Godzilla movie again in the future with Dougherty still as director.
I wanted to see Biolante and Gigan being made in big budget Hollywood style movie. Hehe

Where was that? Even if that did happen, there were action beats from the characters, and dialogue. Plus, isn't that a Godzilla movie, especially WHAT IT HAS? :/

Finally saw this. Thought it was a decent big dumb action movie.

I liked it better than the 2014 movie which I saw in theatres and thought sucked for the most part (last monster fight was cool from what I can remember), so I decided not to spend money on this one. I did see Kong: Skull Island in theatres and thought it was better than Godzilla 2014 (which isn't saying much), but not all that good either. So the Godzilla vs. Kong movie might be another "wait and watch it at home" for me.

Kong is 99.5% guaranteed to win in GvK. It's not a matter of power set, he's just literally an underdog, and we know how much Hollywood loves those in their movies.

I honestly don’t think Kong is garunteed a victory, but it would be a lot better than getting flat out beat down. We all know it would be a short fight if Godzilla were to just blast him. Besides he is one of the two most popular movie monsters of all time!! His legacy cemented Godzilla’s existence.
That being said, we have saw this one on one before, I hope they are able to team up vs Mecha Godzilla or Ghidora and set the stage for a truly epic shared universe . I’m a fan of both and would hate to see either humiliated or truly defeated or dead.

Idk, I think it would be rather boring for Godzilla to just come out and straight beat him, and honestly that’s not a movie many would want to see. Kong is clearly the underdog in this and you have to play it to that. He also relates better with the audience because he is more humanoid and far better at expressing emotion. This last director tried that with Godzilla in king of monster s and got terrible reviews for it. I honestly loved the movie though. That being said I hope the ultimate payoff at the end is a team up, that’s something we have not seen before and would be epic.

WHat will happen is that Godzilla will sacrifice himself to save Kong/stop the threat ie Mecha G or Jonah's Ghidorah head/protect the Godzilla egg

Then Kong will raise baby Godzilla.
