Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

Here is a complain, not specifically about the trailer, but ab out planes and Kaijus in general:

Why do the feel the need to make plane fly within arms reach of the creatures? I've seen it a lot, in many films. Modern warplanes have ranged attacks measured in miles, even the cannons and machine guns, yet they always have them go fly just a few meters from the creature just to be smacked like a fly.

Nonsense!!!!

Well for one, it makes the action scenes more intense and visceral. It also adds a lot of tension to see these great beasts swat the world's most advanced weapons out of the sky like they're flys. It wouldn't be the same if they just launched missiles from miles away that's boring.

As for a possible in-universe reason, having all these jets and military vehicles around could potentially distract the kaiju, drawing their attention from civilians. Let them see what is attacking them, and draw them away.

Everyone mentioning Anguirus, MechaGodzilla and Destroyah; and I'm here hoping (also) for a "Final Wars"-esque Gigan.

I can see this movie making a billion.

I would love that, but highly doubt it. There may be a very small chance if it catches the attention of the Chinese audience.

Ultimately I just hope for a good character-focused movie and not an overstuffed destruction fest - slight concern on my part it's going to end up like the Transformers movies.

All 4 posters.

Awesome combo of posters. The whole promo campaign has been very artistic. Especially compared to Broderick’s Godzilla. :D

I like to think Ghidorah and Rodan would be mates from back home.

I hope there is a plausible explanation of Kong’s absence in KoTM (assuming there’s no crazy twist and he’s in the film!), that is explained in KvG.

I mean the storm cloud that engulfs Skull Island keeps it isolated from the rest of world, doesn't it?? He doesn't hafta be there among the titans to duke it out during KOTM.

I'm guessing that King Ghidorah triggers some kind of ecological imbalance (KG does bring doomsday clouds wherever he goes) that makes the storm clouds over Skull Island disappear.

But there's no reason for them to delay it as of yet? No idea where you're getting that impression from, user.

KOTM getting delayed to May only shows WB has confidence in it to do well.

I understand that but filming is well underway. I don't think it will get delayed.
Godzilla: KOTM wrapped filming before it was delayed. It's too early to tell because WB could always shift it around to make room for something else but until then, all we can do is cross our fingers and get hype for KOTM.
