Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

Some of the merch is out in the wild in the UK. Smyths Toys apparently have the 2 pack JAKKS figs and the 20 inch Godzilla.

I want to hit fast forward on the timestream to get to the opening day.

This is the first film in a long time that has me irrationally rooting for it to be a big hit and accepted by the audience. I am actually have some forboding in that I don't want to be disappointed.

Are we confident that this will carry on out grossing it's predecessors? Godzilla 14 took just over $500m & Kong:SI took over $550.

The hype for this one has been bigger (IMO) than either G14 or KSI. with the inclusion of Mothra, KG and Rodan plus the trailers showing us more fight scenes I think a lot of regular movies goers who were turned off by G14 a bit will be pleased.

I personally think it will have a similar opening weekend to G14....but will have better legs than g14

Yea, It will definitely have better legs than G14, I mean we've seen G run in this movie, and it's definitely an improvement over G14 slow roam. Those are better legs.

So, it turns out NECA isn't making a King Ghidorah. Which has fans... incensed.

Oh well, I will be fine with my Monsterarts Ghidorah, with 2 foot wing span. (starts making room to display him)

The original monsters will probably have subtle nods to the Toho monsters and Daugherty possibly slipped in an easter egg or two (or more  ) in there as well.

Godzilla (2014) (2014) - Box Office Mojo

Godzilla (1998) - Box Office Mojo

15 Years Ago, 'Godzilla' Was A Flop. By Today's Standards, It Would Be A Hit.

Heck, if you play the inflation game, Godzilla's 1998 number equal around $230 million domestic and $403 million overseas, for a spectacular $633 million worldwide total on a film that cost $130 million back in 1998 and would arguably cost $219 million today (that's not even factoring in 15 years of overseas box office expansion and probable 3D upcharges).

Also, the prequel comic to KOTM has another new titan on the cover and he/she looks like a cross between Orga & the female M.U.T.O
