Godzilla: King of the Monsters (2019) - Part 1

Interesting, is Weintraub usually reliable? I'm skeptical of early buzz reports for a film that is still more than two months away.

The co-founder of Bloody Disgusting replied to Frosty saying he heard that KOTM is spectacular!

KOTM has been screened multiple times at the Burbank lot and I know at-least 3 folks who have seen the movie and they have all raved about it. Keep it mind that those guys saw an early cut with unfinished CGI & place holder music so the final product is going to look even better after months of post-production. Plus, Daugherty & Co. did some re-shoots to address the complaints (I'm guessing the human interactions) in the test screenings which already went over extremely well.

C Robert Cargill said on his podcast recently that he "might" have have been present during a scoring session and that what he saw "might" have been "mind-meltingly awesome."

Apologies if this is redundant now, but I just found this tweet he made in November:

"This is just your reminder that I have seen parts of GODZILLA KING OF MONSTERS while watching it get scored, and all I can tell you is that you guys are not ****ing ready."

Disney is gonna own 2019, but May is definitely going to WB. I wonder how well Aladdin will end up doing, it's a week before KOTM.

Well, the last trailer has me a tad worried for it. I laughed that I got the teaser in front of Captain Marvel. I think Disney is scrambling.

You shouldn’t joke about these kinds of things. People got hurt.

Sorry if it came off that way. Personally im glad that no one was severely hurt...but for 80+ people to get injured it must have been something big they hit.

Because none if it is filmed or framed in that format so you're being overcharged?

If the IMAX screen is larger than the typical screen you watch a movie on then its worth it regardless of whether it was shot in IMAX. Same for Dolby Cinemas and films not shot in Dolby Vision and Atmos sound.

Lines up with the footage of them we've seen so far.

The
Orca-ish one with the mountain back seems to be accurate, as is the arachnid one. Really intrigued by the mammoth/gorilla-ish looking one.

I hope the battles are all different and don't get repetitive. There seem to be a lot of monsters in this film. Hopefully Godzilla saves some of his cool moves for Kong next year...don't want that well to run dry. I mean how many moves could Godzilla even possibly have? Not super familiar with the character, but if he's had this many movies by this point, I'll hope for the best.

I can confirm that these are accurate.

Went to see CM and saw the newest trailer...and boy howdy does it look amazing on the big screen as opposed to my CP monitor or phone.
