I doubt that was actually meant to be Gamera. Gamera is owned by Kadowkawa, and I doubt Toho would approve of Gamera showing up. They'd need a totally separate license to use Gamera.

If they do go with a Mecha, I think it would be smart to have it kill some of the lesser titans to build up the threat.
While Godzilla and Kong are scrapping, other monsters are turning up dead around the world.

Well, that would only make sense if this 'human conspiracy' managed to hijack the mecha into doing their bidding. Hardly doubt Monarch would build one just to kill off the Titans and instead not just use it as a contingency method should Godzilla go rogue.

saw it yesterday and love the monster action but the human angle was just nonsense it made no sense to me so they the humans wanted what Thanos wanted to eliminate half the population so they decide to wake up the monsters SO STUPID

and I think what they was going for with Chandler character would have worked better with ATJ character from the first movie

Rodan's scenes were epic

but the human plot is just absurd preferred the first movie's Humans

Agreed, quite infuriating that the story/characters were so stupid, when the monster action delivered in every aspect. This could have been so much better.

as mentioned, with M.O.N.A.R.C.H. reported in the credits to be building something mechanical under Skull Island, it's MechaGodzilla; and it's hijacked to start killing Titans? Especially, also as mentioned, since Warner Bros. acquired the rights to MechaG for Ready Player One?

Also, as speculated, the Oxygen Destroyer being dropped into the ocean sets up Destoroyah? Consider the synopsis for GvK mentioning 'good and bad' monsters, so Destoroyah could be a destructive Titan of unnatural origin (like Ghidorah with his alien origin) that MechaG's been built to battle?

And finally, with Ghidorah's regenerative ability and Alan's acquiring of one of his heads in the post-credits, it could pave the way for a new monster (also of destructively unnatural origin) - like, as proposed, Bagan?

May be highly unlikely that all three will be in GvK, but then again, there'd most probably need to be more than one enemy for Godzilla, Kong and all the other good monsters to duke it out with. We can speculate, but not be married to our speculations.

Mecha-King Ghidorah (who'd be the most likely candidate) and Destoroyah for Godzilla 3. I remember Michael Dougherty also saying that if he were to direct another Godzilla movie, that he'd like to include either Gigan or Biollante.

Didn't love it. Wanted to love it. But didn't.

I hate to be a parrot here, but too much god damn human drama. Every great monster moment cut away to some yawn-inducing lame or cheesy crying quipping bull****. 7/10 and that's generous (mostly because of mothra and atomic Godzilla)

30 minutes of people talking could have been removed from this film and I would have given it the same 7/10. If not maybe a 7.5/10. Would have been a 9/10 if they replaced 30 minutes of humans with 20-30 minutes of kaiju.

Godzilla KotM (7/10)

Pretty steady decline we got going here. Godzilla v Kong better be good or I'm done with this franchise.

They weren't trying to eliminate the population, they wanted the radiation from the titans to revive the worlds natural eco system and what ever lives were lost in the process, so be it. Once it was realized the Monster Zero was not of this earth and just wanted destruction the person that wanted the Titans free realized their error and set out to fix that. Maybe it could have been handled better or be more clear but eliminating humans was never the goal.

Did I enjoy it? No. Did I enjoy parts of it? Hell yes. Am I confused as ****? Yes, yes I am.

And it isn't that this movie is "confusing". I am just baffled by the decision making. Also it felt really long. Like longer then Endgame.

Eh, honestly disagree. There's no character in this I wanted to see outright mawled by a dinosaur because of how annoying/stupid they were. But that's just what I think. For me, there was no one that came close to being annoying as screaming glasses guy and hipster girl in Fallen Kingdom.

On one hand, I do think pretty much all the decision making in this movie is dumb. But Fallen Kingdom has the added dumbness of not even making sense as a concept.

Can I ask why SB? Not trying to insult, I am geniunely curious. Fallen Kingdom is a really weird movie to me. Like I feel like I should enjoy it Batman vs. Robin style, but I just don't. That I kind of can't stand Pratt at this point probably doesn't help. That and how relentlessly dull I find it, I just can't get the will up to watch it again.
