It most certainly could.

But I don't think the long wait periods is a hinderance to the main potential market. China.

That, and WB has shown some remarkable marketing ability to push up a movies opening weekend.

Agreed, as long as people know KK vs G is coming though, we should be okay.

Legendary is all in with Rodan, Motha and King Ghidorah along with Godzilla. WB will have a field day with the marketing campaign with this one. WB fumbled with K:SI initially but bounced back brilliantly with a late marketing blitz to open 50% above industry projections.

Godzilla will be a much easier sell than Kong IMO and then we have more huge monsters that can catch the attention of the GA. The production for this one will be f**king huge and if it is reflected in the trailers, it'll bring the audience on OW.

What will make or break the movie will be it's legs at the BO. KOTM needs to be a more fast paced Monster romp and Mike D has indicated that he's going to show us a lot more of the Monsters. Godzilla was ultimately boring for the GA and that reflected in it's poor multiplier in the heart of the Summer. The release date didn't help Godzilla but Kong was also in a really precarious situation in a stacked March but came out unscathed with a very good result in the end. KOTM must find a good balance between human interactions and monster actions and if it does that efficiently, good BO results will follow suit.

Personally, I think these next slate of Zilla/Kong movies are capped box office-wise around $650-$675. Kaiju movies still don't seem to be in demand here in the states. It's mostly an international thing.

I'm curious what the size difference is going to be between Kong and Godzilla. Going to be very interesting to see how much bigger Kong will be here!

Production has wrapped and Daugherty posted this pic to announce the wrap on twitter

Now to wait about 9 to 10 months for the first official piece of footage. :o

Excited for this movie to come out! I liked the first one, but there's always room for improvement!

Can someone tell me why this movie is coming out in 2019 and not 2018? Makes no sense to me...

Hope we see a trailer soon, 2019 is shaping up to be an exciting year for movies.

Yeah, we ain't getting any footage until next year's Comic Con, so best not to hope for that anytime soon.

Third movie idea even though may be difficult.

Title
Godzilla: Jaeger Systems
Godzilla: Megatech
Godzilla: The Rim
Godzilla: Final Approach
Godzilla: Underdwellers

It begins after Godzilla defeats the 3 monsters but with so much destruction they make a new program called Monarch Gold which the team work with the team of Pacific Rim Jaeger program where they design and build MechaGodzilla from destroyed Jaeger robots to stop a couple more dangerous threats after Godzilla is injured and hides away. With help from the Yaeger team controlling MG, they must unite while making sure that the Kaiju are defeated after they show up to make things worse for them. Godzilla returns and takes over to do battle and team up with MG. To stop Anguirus and Destoroyah and a few rouge Kaiju monsters.

Well, assuming that crossover will ever happen.

Pffft, the March 2019 release date was announced a long time ago, dude. S'nothing recent.

So what? I just registered it now. What a huge deal. :o

If you think that's bad, you're gonna have to suffer through the drought of Godzilla 2 news (and any kind of footage, official pics or concept art) 'til next year's Comic Con, so there's that too. :hehe:

A movie with 4 of the most famous giant monsters of all time is gunna take a **** ton of Post Production visual effects....plus you gotta factor in possible reshoots.

Oh yeah, nearly forgot about that. Comes out in a month, so we're pretty close to it.
