GO TO THE THEATER!Debating on whether to see this at the theater or not. I really think this needs to be seen on the big screen.

To be fair, from what I understand this kinda is Wingard. Bringing creative, colorful, and vibrant style to both Godzilla and Kong. Imagine having both Wingard and Roberts on a project. That would be insane!
If this movie does good enough financially we may not have to worry about the critics input. Just take a look at F&F and Bayformers.
Actually... long post aheadThe Monsterverse timelines you see floating around are fan-made, so I wouldn't put much stock in them.
I think that would be a nice addition. Maybe they wouldn’t necessarily FOCUS on telling the public “it’s apart of the MV” but rather have it be its own thing and after it’s out just say it’s canon with the MV. If I were legendary I would definitely do a Kong 2, maybe Godzilla 3 or destroy all monsters. Anything past that then the causals see it as staleNot sure how they could pull this off, but I would like to see a Loch Ness monster film set in the monster verse. I can understand the call for it to end with one more movie, but truthfully it could end with this one.
One could argue that there isn’t a bigger movie they can do than this. These are the most iconic monsters of all time! There are some who have been waiting for this for a lifetime and truthfully It’s really down hill from here, unless we are talking friendly rematch with Godzilla being mine controlled .. okay, okay... just kidding.
For those who have seen the movie and WITHOUT spoilers, do we get a sense of what the world is like given the global devastation in previous movies (i.e. KotM)? Any exposition or scenes about the human and economic cost the world has gone through?
Thx.
While I would love for the monsterverse to continue, I don’t know if casual audiences will find future films as big of a draw as this one. This film is a big deal because it’s pitting the two most famous giant monsters of all time against each other. I don’t know if audiences will care that much about, say Destroyah, or maybe Biollante (trying to think of big dawg enemies).
I think the only thing that could be as big of a draw would be a Destroy All Monsters movie. Mainly because it would have both Godzilla and Kong in it, which yet again shows to me that the two monsters together are the biggest draw.
