Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

What I'd really prefer is a show that's basically just a nature documentary with no commentary that takes place during prehistoric times in the Hollow Earth showing Kong and Godzilla's ancestors duking it out with plenty of other kaiju action. Of course it wouldn't be cheap but they'd save a ton on the budget by not requiring actors.

I mean, the key here is that they are calling it a Monsterverse series, not a Godzilla or Kong series.

I mean, we had those news last year of Adam Wingard coming back to direct another Monsterverse movie (rumored to maybe be a Son of Kong interpretation), so I assume this is the same thing. I don't think it'll be a literal direct successor to GvK, just another installment in this universe.

Plus, GvK was successful. They weren't about to let the Monsterverse die here.

Just remember that the Monsterverse is a mess of rights issues. I would wait till we hear from Legendary before getting excited for what the movie may be.

Well, they still have like 2/3rds of the planet to destroy in these films. America is essentially toast, lets finish off Europe.

I was today years old when I found out a sequel was even in talks.

This movie should be an American version of Destroy All Monsters, just with Kong included.

The only thing that sucks is that Monsterverse Ghidorah is dead but I suppose they could make do with Mecha-Ghidorah. Might as well throw in Destoroyah while we're at it.

I remember before GvK came out there were rumors that Destoroyah would either be the main villain of the movie or there'd be a post-credits scene teasing his appearance in a later movie. I think in the end they were going to do the latter but kept it out because they didn't know if a sequel would happen because of rights issues/box office performance.

Look, I love Destroyah. But they ruined the Oxygen Destroyer, thus his whole thing with Godzilla, already. He doesn't need build up, they ruined the build up. And this isn't the MCU, you don't need to build up.

I’m absolutely ecstatic , but I hope it is a sequel like they are saying. Title it King Kong vs Godzilla and finally do Kong justice. He just looked to weak in the last film, give him room to breathe and kick a$$! Him with that axe should be able to do serious damage. Show him kicking serious butt in the hollow earth and bring him back topside to stop a mind controlled or out of control Godzilla! Maybe bring Godzilla back to his senses and both fight the final battle vs Mecha Kong or Ghidora reborn .
