Godzilla vs Kong (2021)

I don't read this thread super-often, but what's with all the spoiler-tagged posts in here recently? I'm guessing someone's seen the movie somehow and is responding to questions about it?

And if that's the case, I guess that's my cue to not read the thread until the movie comes out. :o

Asr, yes, pretty much that. Also, some major reveals and plot elements got leaked, and they were being discussed here. So they are being spoiler tagged for safety purposes. Plus, the movie isn't out yet. For now, it's the right and respectful thing to do.

Just checked in to see 30 odd pages of tagged spoiler talk!!!
Not going to look but did watch Skull Island last night & will re-watch KotM this week too.
My hype for this is ramping up!!!

Spoiler figure reveal!
Spoiler! Playmates Mechagodzilla Figure Full Reveal

Really gives me Terminator vibes, can’t wait to see it in action.

I'll never understand when someone sees a movie early, and then goes on to answer every question and spoil every aspect of the film on forums. I've seen it happen many times over the years, but it's still a weird flex to me.

I mean, if people want to spoil the movie for themselves, that's their business. Not really seeing anything wrong with what Weezers is doing, especially since he's putting all spoilers in tags to those who ask him.

That's another thing that is always strange to me. Some people have waited years, even decades, to see this film and other films like this. And then mere weeks before they can see it, they want to learn or read every single thing about what happens in the film. Different strokes for different folks, I guess.

Another question for Weezer, Forgive me if this has been asked already, Does Kong stick anything in Godzilla's mouth ala 1962 where he stuck a tree in his mouth? Also, Does Kong ever body slam Godzilla or swing him by his tail? Thanks so much!

Any info on a UK release for this? I saw on Reddit that it has a May release date in theatres, but obviously due to continued lockdown here, that isn't an option.

This is probably true as the current reopen date for cinemas in the UK is may 17th

as we don’t have HBO max though here in the UK there should be another way for us to watch the movie via another streaming service. :(

hi > weezerspider can I ask you a question about the hollow earth, what is its interior and ecosystem, and whether there are still not significant monsters in the likeness of hell birds and warbats ???

(And a couple more questions)
this question concerns specifically the Warbats namely that:

1.approximately how many flying snakes appear in the film?
2.Where does their battle take place? / hollow earth ?
3.How does their battle end ?
4.And is there any interaction between Mechagodzilla and Warbats ?
5.Kong fights the Skullcrawlers ?

Just wanted to say that the new Chinese theatrical posters are major bada*s!

Also, some questions for @weezerspider :

1. Do you believe the official marketing (trailers, TV spots, set photos, etc.) have revealed too much for this movie? If you could, please answer if from the perspective of a casual movie goer who has some interest in Godzilla and/or Kong and has no idea about Mechagodzilla.

2. Could you please estimate how far into the movie the following events take place:
1. Sea battle (a.k.a. Godzilla and Kong’s first meeting)
2. Hollow Earth exploration/Kong’s journey
3. Hong Kong fight/climax

3. I have avoided as many spoilers as possible but do know the final battle in Hong Kong carries into the day. Does this transition feel natural and gradual or is it kind of suddenly daylight?

4. Are there any lines from human the characters that stuck with you not featured in the trailer/TV spots thus far? Please don’t post what they are, a simple “yes” or “no” will suffice.

5. In your opinion, does Godzilla use his Atomic Breath too many times in the film? Based on the footage so far, I’m a little worried he’s too reliant on it.

6. And lastly, does the scale feel huge in this movie? One problem I personally had with Godzilla: King of the Monsters is a felt sometimes the shots were panned too far out and didn’t have much variety plus Godzilla ran awfully fast.

Sorry to bother you, but as always, thank you!

1. I stayed away from any spoilers and pretty much predicted the whole movie based on the trailers. It didn’t bother me, I still enjoyed the film, but I think the only surprise(MG) is pretty predictable. I went and visited my parents the other day and told them I saw this movie and even my mother went “Do they team up against a bigger threat at the end?”.

2. Guesstimation here:
1. 30 min
2. 45 min-1 hour
3. 1 hour and a half.

3. It feels natural.
4. Not really. Anyone keeping up with my answers will know by now that I didn’t care for the human story.
5. Funny you said that because this is one of the few “fan fic” type questions I feel confident in answering because I had the same thought during one of the fights. He does use it a lot.
6.I think they focus more getting good angles for the fights versus seeing it from the human perspective, so their size isn’t as big of a focus, so I’d say the answer is probably a no. Personally, I preferred this, so I could actually see what the hell was happening in the fight.

Thank you, Weezer! I have some questions.

1. So the axe isn't made of Godzilla's ancestor spine? The HE technology is just a power source or an alien technology?
2. So as you mentioned, Godzilla will scratch Kong's chest and kills him which then humans have to revive. We didn't see scratch marks or wounds in Kong's chest in trailers and pictures which happened after him waking up. Do you think they removed the effects, or he heals perfectly?
3. For what reason Kong's team is circling around Godzilla's atomic breath as there was showing in the trailer?

Thank you once again.

1.If it is, they don’t explain it in the movie. They might go the lazy Star Wars routine and reveal all that in tie books lol.
2. He definitely still have some wounds fighting MG, but he heals fast. Probably a mixture of both.
3. It’s a long take following the ship out of the whole in the earth, past a roaring Kong, along the atomic breath all the way to Godzilla roaring.

Hey man, I’d be lying if I said I was enjoying this at this point lol. I’m just being nice. People want spoilers and I can give it to them, so it’s the nice thing to do. I bet most posters in this position would agree with me. It’s fun at first because you just saw the movie and want to talk about it with anyone, but no one else has seen it and the only ones who want to talk about it without seeing it are people on these types of forums, so you talk to them. Then you wake up with 50 alerts and 20 private Messages and *******s on YouTube calling you a liar. By then, it becomes exhausting. Not asking for sympathy or anything, but it’s definitely not a “flex”.

Another question for Weezer, Forgive me if this has been asked already, Does Kong stick anything in Godzilla's mouth ala 1962 where he stuck a tree in his mouth? Also, Does Kong ever body slam Godzilla or swing him by his tail? Thanks so much!

Nah.

There are many different blink and you’ll miss creatures in HE. The Warbats fly up and eat one of the human ships and Kong defends them. I believe there are only two. They fight in HE. MG does not interact with them and Kong doesn’t fight SkullCrawlers.

Weezer man, if you’re getting tired of answering questions, I’d say just go ahead and announce it. You got a job and a life that needs attention, and I doubt you enjoy spending all night answering questions on here. You’ve already done more than enough, hell you obviously didn’t even have to answer anything to begin with.

But I do thank you for answering what you have. It has given a lot of people the answers they wanted and personally hyped me for the film even more than I was before

Yeah, I need this info!

I’m happy to continue to answer questions. Just expect the answers to start coming a little slower. Haha

Because some of us would rather read the spoiler then pay to watch the horrific events unfold on a big screen thus ruining our day or week
