I'm ordering a whole bunch of Give Yourself Goosebumps for myself.

I'm 23...and still love them :D

I am officially scared. Are they making this into a whacky comedy or into a thriller with comedic relief? I'm just really scared that they're just going to make fun of the series now.

Every Goosebumps episode is terrible, so it would only be fitting for the movie to be, as well.

Thing is, I don't hate the guy. Sometimes he's good, sometimes he's bad. But man, I really want this to be a good film, especially as Goosebumps were my childhood.

Again the director of this thing is the dude who made Guliver's Travels.

This movie is going to be terrifyingly terrible... I get goosebumps just thinking about it.

James Wan should've directed it. Seriously, just have him tone down his **** slightly for the PG crowd.

So, just for curiosity. ..what were people's scariest episodes of the show? :D

Jack Black is usually annoying. But his manners were toned down and he was also serious in King Kong, and that worked really good.

Eh I didn't like him in King Kong. He didn't fit in and he's not a great serious film actor.

He's ok if he's bouncing off kids though which I'm sure is the idea with this. The goosebumps franchise has some good ideas but unless black is playing curly I can't see it working with a recurring character

I'd love it if he was the robot teacher in piano lessons can be murder lol

"BEAUTIFUL HANDS!!! BEAUTIFUL HANDS!!!!" :D

That's the problem. I've got a funny feeling, along with the producers involved, that it's one of those cases of a classic case of 'misinterpreting the franchise' or a 'cash-grab on nostalgia'.

Certain adaptations didn't work. 'Naria' for example, but at least it was an attempt at being honest despite some missteps. If you're gonnna make a mistake, make an honest mistake; don't BS your way and you'll end up with 'City of Bones'.

I already know that. HOWEVER, this guys directed Black's last comedy so suffice to reason says that there is a chance that they're looking to bring in a repeat of what they did before with making a comedy.

This film is darker than the trailer -- but hearing Jack Black and this guy together again everything just seems like they're going this zany route but with goosebumps characters:

And that has me worried.

Black was amazing in Bernie and heartfelt in School of Rock. But just my initiation tells me that we won't see that side to him here. For shame!

I am a fan of the original run of Goosebumps books. Read them all. I let it go once RL Stine moved into the multiple ending, choose your own adventure thing. That doesn't really appeal to me. There is nostalgia there for the series, and I love the TV theme tune. Not sure how they'll go adapting for live action, though.

Werewolf of Fever Swamp always stood out as a favorite of mine.

Welcome to Camp Nightmare was one that I always remembered, especially with the twist ending that I didn't see coming at all.

Haunted Mask was always my favorite. It was so disturbing, and I have a morbid obsession with masks so it was even more enjoyable.

Narnia?
