Horror R.L. Stine's Fear Street - The Movie

I need more info on Prom Queen! Curious if it will be another summer release.

Among the other projects debuting a new image were director Kyle Newacheck’s Happy Gilmore 2 starring Adam Sandler, which is set to launch sometime this year; Simon Stone’s The Woman in Cabin 10, with the adaptation of Ruth Ware’s novel featuring Keira Knightley, Guy Pearce and Hannah Waddingham and set for fall; and Matt Palmer’s Fear Street: Prom Queen, starring India Fowler and debuting this summer.

nice it comes out on my womb escape anniversary :D

R.L. Stine has looked the same for the last 20 years.

I really loved the Fear Street trilogy and I can’t wait for this! Hope we get a trailer soon!

forgot this was out today gonna watch it later while eating dinner

Bummer. Was actually looking forward to this.

I didn't dislike the movie, but I feel it is unfortunate that it was put into the Fear Street franchise. Leigh Janiak was definitely missed. While they did up the gruesomeness of the deaths, it looked CG heavy opposed to practical, and honestly, just started to feel a bit lazy toward the end of the movie.

And the pacing is weird. It feels like 20 minutes were lopped off at the beginning. Only to stretch out the prom portion, which, yeah, some good kills, but it was extremely formulaic that was stretched out. And it made it really difficult to get into the characters and their stories.

I also feel like it wasted way, way too much time to set up pointless red herrings. Only for the initial reveal to be someone I had totally forgotten about. Also, that was Chris Klein, wtf? And the third reveal felt like it was a twist for twists sakes, given they showed 2 killers so early

I feel that the original trilogy was focused around a queer love story, that having Prom Queen be so goddamn straight felt like a big betrayal of the Fear Street name. Sure, 79 was pretty straight, but it was bookended by the main story.

Also, seeing Finna Strazza made me angry about Paper Girls again...

It's ironic considering there is a very obvious pairing.

Yeah it definitely felt kind of predictable and safe for the most part but I can't say that I didn't still find it somewhat entertaining as a slasher flick.

I was hoping for a bit more out of it in the end since 1666 ended the trilogy on such a strong note but I liked the main two characters and the kills were pretty fun and gory.

I could have done without some of the CGI enhanced stuff though and man I almost didn't recognize Chris Klein at first but him and Katherine Waterson being in this was definitely a nice surprise.
