Comics Gravestone Theories

That is exactly the attitude that keeps consumers from ever taking a stand with the one thing that DOES hurt companies and make them listen: money. If more people took the action I was taking, then things WOULD change. It does hurt me a little, but it would BS for me to talk about how crappy it is while continuing to buy it.

I don't like where Spider-Man is going, so I am speaking out with my wallet. I may be one of the few, and nothing may end up changing, but I would be a hypocrite if I talked up consumer power and then continued to financially support something I could no longer stand behind.

You are right that if more people just dropped the title and stopped complaining about it every five seconds they might make a bigger dent in their master plan.

But you're the one saying that it pains you that you're not buying Ultimate Spider-Man...and as I said, the only one you're hurting is yourself. The sales on Amazing Spider-Man and Civil War have been great in his eyes, so you're not really hurting him all that much.

Marvel puts out a lot of great titles that AREN'T Spider-Man. And the people who are feeling the pain are the writers and artists who are making things great in comics, yet they aren't getting people to read their books because there are people who say, "I'm never buying Marvel again" because what happens in a Spider-Man comic.

Read Captain America. Read Daredevil. Read She-Hulk. Read Moon Knight. Read Runaways. Read Young Avengers. And the plethora of other Marvel titles that are high in quality and give great stories. Send them THAT message instead.

hmmm so is reign kinda like Spider-man: the end in a way?

Sort of. If you've ever heard of or read Batman: The Dark Knight Returns that's basically what Reign is being compared to.
