Peart plays some pretty fast stuff, but mostly his drumming is just incredibly complex and often he's playing in multiple time signatures at the same time while he's at it. It's pretty amazing.

Yeah. I'm not a Rush fan like I am with Zeppelin and The Who, but everything I've heard from them I really, really like, especially "Spirit Of The Radio", "Limelight" and "Tom Sawyer".

Hey, Wilhelm, did you notice that Bohemian Grove is one of the featured questions on Yahoo right now?

What about Dave Lombardo from slayer
Pete Sandoval from Morbid Angel
These two are great drummers you should check them out

Moon is easily my favorite drummer of all time.

Yep. I like Rush, but really I prefer quite a bit of other stuff to listen to. For my money, Chris Layton of Double Trouble plays the tastiest stuff going. But, I simply cannot deny the musical prowess that Peart has as a percussionist (hell, that entire band are all top notch).

As proven by everyone else, fast drumming does not equal good drumming. It equals an ear splitting headache.

Also the 1980s' had a lot talent. Certainly more than today.

And every drummer on that poll could beat this Mackintosh guy. Maybe not as fast as him, but in terms of who's the best drummer, he'll lose by a long shot. Even Ringo would leave him in the dust.

So you've heard him? Or are you just making an uneducated guess?

ANTHONYNASTI said:
Exactly. Fast doesn't equal good. It makes you rushed and sloppy.

I find it ironic that Rush is called Rush and yet their music is anything but rushed.

But here's the thing, he isn't sloppy, and he's not rushed. So....where's your point?

Apparently Dave Lombardo is sloppy and rushed according to these people.

Does it matter?

You're comparing him to the incomparable.

And yes, I have heard some of their stuff. Typical modern rock: sloppy, loud and poorly written.

It's not typical modern rock.

Um, yeah it is.

It's why I've given up on the music on my generation. It's all the same. Unless it's emo, which is in a class of it's own, and is even worse.

Jesus, what are you, the guy's wife? It's cool that you like Dragonforce and their drummer, but you don't have to try to convince everyone in this thread that they are awesome. Especially when some folks disagree or don't care. You know?

No, I just feel the need to inform people when they make a mistake. You don't want to end up like Bill O'Reilly

Bill O'Reilly's overrated, too. :p

I suppose the guy from nirvana and the others are not

Where the hells Patrick Keeler? The Keelah? Where is he?!

True, and that's exactly what I hate about him.
Now you've ruined it for me. :(

Hate is a mighty strong word Mr. Munch. Are you sure you don't mean "somewhat dislike?" I reserve hate only for ones like Shumacher and Wingding Lord.

I don't hate him like I hate Celine Dion or Green Day (blind murderous hatred), but that is what I hate about him.
I said earlier, if I was King of Rockland, roto-tom owners would be banished
These fils where it goes
BLLLL BLLLLL BLLLL BLLLLL BLLLLL BLLLL BLLLLL destroy hapiness.

I like the drums on Tom Sawyer though, but that's the only Rush song I'm ever excited about hearing.

You love "Red Barchetta". Admit it.

hahaha, I don't know that but I've heard the name and it makes me laugh.
It sounds like some euphemism for female genitalia or something.
Or an exotic cheese.
