Green Arrow the Movie, anyone?

where is Justin Marks now?

I know the Hollywood game is hard, so I don't know if we heard the last of him or not. If I was him, I would just collect my checks and run.

he probably been working on other scripts we are just not hearing about.

Marks has been tipped for Shadow of the Colossus, Suicide Squad, and Voltron, and wrote the Captain Nemo prequel.

I think Damian Lewis would make a cool green arrow, hes got red hair but they could dye it. He was awesome in band of brothers

I wanted Aaron Eckhart to play Ollie in a movie, but then he went and played Harvey Dent.

yea there is such many actors that would make a great green arrow. some better for an older ollie others for younger ollie. if green arrow does happen any time soon should be interesting to see what direction they go.

Garrett Hedlund, to be seen in the new Tron and one of the final contenders for the Captain America role.
You might remember him from such educational films as Troy or Four Brothers.

Ah, thanks.

I'm still going with Fassbender or Cooper for the role though.

all counts really if/when they get to GA with GA version they want to go with a more younger one or a more grissled older GA.

*Bump*

Plans for DC characters include a “Green Lantern” movie in June 2011. The film stars Ryan Reynolds as a test pilot with super powers. The studio is developing a new “Superman” film, more “Batman” installments and movies based on Wonder Woman, the Flash, Green Arrow and Aquaman, Horn said.

Well, I'd love to see a Green Arrow live action film. When he joined the cast on Smallville, I thought he was pretty awesome. Especially since they updated him a bit, specifically the costume. I think Justin Hartley has done an amazing job on Smallville as Oliver Queen/Green Arrow. I'd love to see him land the role in the film (if it happens), but him getting casted most likely won't happen. But I hope they go the route of using a Smallville-ish costume design. Or the one from the Green Arrow animated short, I thought that looked pretty sweet.

I think Bradley Cooper would be a good pick. Or Charlie Hunnam (He really reminds me of Year One Ollie).

I hope if they do his origin they base it off Year One. That's probably the best Green Arrow graphic novel out there, well at least to me. :D

I'd like to see a movie that isn't a superhero movie necessarily. Something based on Year One, but the movie influenced by a combination of Cast Away and Robin Hood about Oliver Queen stranded on the island stopping Chyna White. Then the sequel could be a revised Super Max.

That would be interesting, actually. Cool idea. :woot:

Someone needs to do something with his costume and make it a change that sticks. I don't understand why artists keep on going back to the hat and draw strings on the chest version. The animated short was a step in the right direction costume wise.

I would love to see them do Year One as a movie, perhaps with Vinnie Jones as the crooked bodyguard and Ziyi Zhang as China White. Not sure about Ollie, though I liked the idea of Bradley Cooper. However, I would think a Year One movie might have a younger Oliver.

Wouldn't mind seeing an adaptation of the Long Bow Hunters as a follow up.

I'm still all for Charlie Hunamm as Oliver on the big screen. :woot:

If they ever do make a Green Arrow movie I really hope that they tag James McTeigue to direct it. He's the perfect man for the job.

I can't see them making this movie really. I would rather see this as a live action 30-1hr short special with other DC characters kind of like the DC shorts with the DVDs except live action. This way they could introduce characters that will be in the JL movie.

This may even work well as a mini series on HBO, but for a feature film idk. Then again if they have some other DC characters in it and the movie is packed with action and a good story, maybe. Big maybe.

THis can definitely work as a feature film. THere is no reason why it can't

This. It couldn't go the normal superhero route, but movies based on Year One, and a much improved Supermax could very well be some of the best comic book movies ever.

I really don't see how the above suggestion could work better than his movie though. How would surrounding him with aliens and people who can punch through walls and run on water make Green Arrow work better? I hope every DC character stays in their own universe, it makes the characters much more effective.

WHen you mean Year One do you mean have the whole film take place on the island. Eh. I dont think it would be a good idea
And I think SuperMax should be scrapped completely. Maybe in a film have GA deal with a prison riot but SuperMax wouldnt be good

The only problem with GA that I see is that some people may compare it to Batman and especially Iron Man, but that can also work in the movie's favor
Also Haweye might steal his thunder a tiny bit

AS far as directors I dont think James McTiegue would be good. Maybe Paul Greengrass...sometime I dont like the quick editing he does though. But the best choice wouldve been Martin Campbell however he's already doing GL

Certain superheroes in a GA movie may work, but not all depending if they were trying to go the more realistic route. I just don't see this being a feature film though. Not everythig can transition from the comics effectively and stand on their own.

I would rather see this as a mini-series where the guy just happens to be GA and we see different events, conflicts, etc each week; as opposed to a feature film where a guy with a bow and arrow has to save the city/girl/government or world. I would just have to hear a good plot.

This is one that could wait until the JL movie for me.
