Exactly. For Green Arrow I was thinking types like Jerry O'Connell and Mark Paul Gosselaar (Zack from Saved By The Bell, who's actually come a long way in his career since). People with that loud, almost obnoxious and brash attitude who can still be serious when they need to be.
As for Black Canary (and I'm trying my best not to think of Whedon actors but can't help it), how about Elizabeth Rohm (Detective Lockley from Angel). Or Diane Neal (Law and Order: SVU).
Trying not to say Ali Larter or Nathan Fillion cause they're the fanboy choices for everything under the sun but I like them too.
Nope. Lasted all of 2 seasons. When shows like this one and others last only this long I'm boggled as to how Smallville pulled off 10 seasons (and I like that show but think of how many better show got only half that).I could see either one of them. I think Mark Paul would do good by being in an action/drama tv show. Does that Law show even still come on TNT, with him and Gunn from Angel?
Never did bother to watch that one considering it's the same premise and it's one of those things where I'd just be comparing the shows all the time. Boreanez on Bones is still weird to me and that show outlasted Angel already.Rohm would be good. She looked kind of on the bigger side on Angel, but I saw her more slim and fit on another tv show. Heck Law and Order has had so many fine actresses almost all of them could be Black Canary lo. The blonde assistant D.A. is fine, the new detective who was Stabler's partner is fine lol.
Did you ever see that Angel knock off show Moonlight or something with Vampire Detective lol. The female detective who was also in Underworld could be good as Black Canary IMHO. Other than that I think a lot of blondes could work, but I would like to see some non-blonde actresses try for the role.
Haha exactly why I try not to suggest her. Same with Fillion who's about as popular around here as Reynolds and Depp. I mean yeah they'd fit the roles but it just feels uninspired after a while. Kind of like casting R Lee Ermy as a military authority. It's kind of "Well no ****" at that point and it's not as fun as seeing a left field Heath Ledger type of choice. Not familiar with Fillion, but yeah, I'm tired of Ali Larter in every action role for a blonde. She's the blonde version of Eliza Dushku, I think lol.
Haha really? I love her voice. Reminds me of the chick from Chasing Amy...Holy ****. What ABOUT Joey Lauren Adams as Black Canary? I'd be with you on Julie Benz if it wasn't for No Ordinary Family. Something about her playing two superheroines doesn't rub me the right way. Though she would make a good Black Canary.
EDIT: Woooah...Adams is 42...When did that happen? I don't need my Black Canary THAT old. Damn. Had the craziest crush on her growing up too.
Aaah, Glory. From a visual standpoint, hell yes, but I'm gonna have to see her in other things. I've only seen her as that character and she's kind of an over the top ditsy type.
Then hey, I don't see why not. People have surprised me before. I'd really rather see this show over Raven but who knows. Maybe that'll provide some good Teen Titans action.
This thread doesn't seem to be flooded with much other people talking about Green Arrow but I think it'd be pretty cool if this Raven show was in continuity with Smallville. That way Lee Thompson Young's Cyborg can show up every now and then as well as Impulse. Mia's speedy would probably show up as well and Tom Welling appearances as Supes would just be...awesome. I'm really looking forward to this show based on it's potential alone.
But yeah, I'm expecting major stories involving Trigon and demon hunting and the like. They'll probably even make up a supporting cast of characters nobody has heard of since the Titans would have to be eased in the way the League was on Smallville.
But hey, keeping with the thread, years down the line, how awesome would it be to be Justin Hartley show up with the longer hair and goatee as Green Arrow?
Sorry, for the late reply. It's the Holidays and ironically the only time I really get on SHH is when I'm AT work lol. Yeah, that guest appearance by Hartley would be dope. I always liked when past characters came back and reprised the roles that made them famous or had a strong fan following. For me that would be like having Jason (Austin St. John) come back to be a ranger on Power Rangers. Yeah, I'm a grown man, but when I was a kid that was one of the best things ever to see when someone comes back.
I would like to see they go the more Superhero route with Raven as opposed to the supernatural/demon hunting theme. That has been overdone to death on CW. It's time for a change.
